Contemplating on getting a 250r
Hey guys!
I live in Apple Valley CA and i go to work in Covina. Its about a 65 mile drive. I'm thinking about getting a 2012 ninja 250r to save me on gas(currently i am paying $50 every 2 days). I am 24 5'3 and a first time rider. Think its a good idea? I'm leaning towards buying the bike since i cant seem to get off this forum during work lol. |

If you're primarily looking at gas mileage, my CBR250R gets 10-20 more MPG than my old Ninjette did. Some other CBR riders and I have done over 90MPG on a stock bike. Expect more in the 70-75 range though. The Ninja was more 50-60 for me
If you want something faster, or for weekend rides, I'd go for the Ninja. |

You're 24...well then, it should be pretty obvious which bike you ought to get.

Im 23 just got mine 2 months ago and am a first time rider as well. Gas is good but like stated above the CBR will get better mileage.
It's not the fastest thing in a straight line, I hit 105 yesterday but as far as corners I am able to keep it going just as quick as some of the 600's at times. All in all I love it and wouldnt mind having a bigger bike eventually but I am learning the basics of everything just on something that wont kill me as fast! Once you learn how the 250 works and likes to ride you can ride the hell out of it and still have a great time on the twisties. |

Yes, go for it. The Ninjette is a perfect beginner and all around bike.
