Bike doesn't need choke on start up
Ever since Ive tuned the carbs with a factory pro kit, My ninja doesn't need any choke to start up. Is this normal? I live in Houston Texas where the sea level is about 50ft and its about 70-80 degrees here right now. Any other members on here that dont need choke to start their bike? I find it rather odd when I see other posts about people having to use a certain amount of choke to get their 250's started up

Gratz! If everything else is good, then you have your bike tuned pretty good. No choke to start plus running right when warm is a sign of a good tune!

When it's in the 40s and 50s, I need the choke during the first start of the day. But once warmed, it'll start without the choke later during the day.
In the 60s and above, I never needed the choke.

I mean, even down at 30, my bike doesn't NEED choke to start. It just starts easier and more agreeably when I do :P
But really if it's that warm, I don't see why you'd have issue starting without choke. Mine only really gets funny when I don't use it on the first start of the day. Even then, see above. It'll still start regardless. |

If it doesn't need choke on startup, you've got a compression issue. Your engine needs a complete overhaul.
jk. that's actually pretty awesome |
