Don't get a 500 shock. Those things are too soft and shorter. You can crank the preload up to make it stiff enough to ride at the right height, but that's not the right way of doing it.

Get a newgen shock with low miles or a 300 shock that has improved valving for a little stiffer damping. I'm a featherweight, so the newgen damping is pretty much perfect for me.

^^ The red is so nice!!!!

I flushed the oil 3 times yesterday using some Quaker State oil. Should be good to go. I was going to ride to work this morning but my back wasn't having it.

SS brake line and trimmed front fender

Venhill black brake line, went on very easily, bled quickly with a vacuum bleeder. Noticeable improvement in brake firmness and feedback.

Trimmed the front fender (a little more, with a Dremel cutting disk and a belt sander). I think I'll have to trim the rear half to match better.

I also reinstalled the passenger pegs after my daughter gave a friend a ride and she melted the soles of her shoes all over the exhaust cans.

Fixed the stupid blinker that would just randomly work depending on whether the bike was leaned or upright and waxed her up

Well, a 1/4 turn is just a little too much. Oh! I lubed the chain, too!

And yup, that's what she said!

(Also, I can't believe how ridiculously easy it was to do. Whhhyyy did I not do that sooner?!)

So much all at once.

Unbent my sub frame with a 6 foot long iron rod, use tie down cables and
my buddies truck bumper mounts to hold her down while I bent it back up.
Looks a million times better than before. twas a comical contraption.

shimmed the carbs, removed the snorkel and took her out for a spin.

Time to get over my lowside I had last season.

Took the 22 freeway and did 100+ on my 250r. Funny tho i didnt feel any thrill or excitement out of it. I just hit 100+ and could have kept going faster but didnt. Speed isnt my thing! I enjoy going on rides instead for pleasure and relaxation.

Went to my Mom's for momsday and put the ninjette on the center stand and sat on it for a bit. It's starting to feel weird moving back and forth from the 650 and the 250.

Nothing I've to busy modding my garage instead so then I'll be better equipped to further mod my 250, if that's even possible

I did go pickup jiggle's OEM rear tire off the 300 to quell my 250's insatiable desire to murder anything I mount back there I hope the tire doesn't suck ass bad as I think it will.

Speaking of which, what do you guys use for a quick cleaning of the bike? Not for a full on wash, but like if a bird shat on your tank or something.

I'll live. I've been riding off and on for a few months now, and am working my way back. No major issues, and hope to be back to full health sooner rather than later.

I FINALLY STARTED IT!!!! She likes the air box, new fuel routing, and new EFI software much better. Blew a little smoke, but that went away after a minute or two of idling. I'll put it back together, check my tire pressures and fluids, etc, then take it for a short spin to make sure everything is all kosher.
