We have something similar here but it's a smaller group. A few sports bikes and the rest are cafe racers and bobbers.

The rides in the Seattle and Portland area are huge. But, those areas are kinda overflowing with hipster wannabes....

I rode in the Raleigh DGR. We had about 40 folks show up. It was a great time for a worthy cause that raised over $1,000,000 worldwide for prostate cancer research. If there isn't one in your area, start one next time. It's very easy, and a lot of fun. Don't worry about riding a vintage bike, it's not the most important factor.

I wore my Dad's picture (who had Prostate Cancer) on my helmet:

Dude.. They promote it as a "vintage " style ride. But they are probably just trying to keep it chill riders and not a buncha squids pulling wheelies and stuff.

They probably watched too many you tube videos.

I dont mind Hipsters. Nothing wrong with wearing some nice cloths and ridding with some chill people.

Sometimes I prefer to ride with cruisers because they are not always trying to go wild on the public roads.

The Guys I have went ridding with down south so far have really been hit or miss. Dont use turn signals . Hang their legs off their bikes for what reason I do not know. Stretched and chromed out wide tire rockets hitting the rev limiter at every red light.

This part of the description really rubbed me the wrong way:
"Bikes - Should be vintage/classic/modern classic. The idea isn't to exclude anyone, but rather to create a vibe, a feeling, that most modern metal just does not evoke."

I was into it when I got the invite until that part. I've never been on a group ride but it sounded fun.

I wish I still had my Pacific Coast. I would totally put a bowtie sticker on the front, and dress it up too!

like I said..... It is far from the point. Last year, I raised more money than anyone in my group (I worked it - the cause was important to me) I chose to ride a 2005 Boulevard.
I ride with the ton up cafe racer crowd, and any given gathering produces maybe 1/2 vintage iron. The common core is that we all LIKE the vintage stuff, but some don't even OWN them. In our group, the ages range from the 20's to the 60's....holy ****, I may be the oldest person in the group.... that's depressing... but we laugh and carry on as if we were contemporaries. Pretty much like any other bike/car crowd...
