Slip on exhaust?
I was possibly looking into a slip on exhaust, for safety reasons and simply because it sounds better. I have heard many people say that you should shim the needles or rejet your carburetor even with just a slip on rather than a full system. However, I have only done body work on my motorcycle and have very little experience with carburetors. Is this absolutely necessary, and if so, is it a simple DIY job?

If all your doing is adding a slip on, then you should be able to get away with just shimming. And yes, it's a simple job that only takes about 30-40 mins following this DIY; http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...=diy+shim+carb
The hardest part is getting the screws out of the carb caps without stripping them. Have your non phillips replacements handy before you do the job.

The number of washers you might need is a bike specific thing. Some are happy with 3, others like 4 and some don't like any. lol
