I'd love to get a nice pair of the SMX5's but I have no good roads to really need them.

Keep posting those pics, they're looking awesome so far

Tell that to your ankle bone when it's peeking out of your skin.

it's not about the roads man, it's about the protection.

How do you like the pants? And the boots? Are the boots the ventilated version?

I know that...but with the very limited budget I'm on, I just can't afford getting any new gear. I spent the last of what I set aside on a new Shoei RF1100.

great helmet. Just keep saving and keep the boots high on your list remember, crashes don't wait for you to be ready so don't put it off! I was told I was lucky to have no ankle injuries in my 10mph accident.

My gloves arrived today. Fitment is very snug right now but after being broken in they will be perfect.

I will try to get some pics up this evening.

Yep, GP gloves and yes, buy one size larger than your normal size. I normally wear a large, I bought XL and they are pretty tight but will break in perfectly.

The pants and boots are good quality. I like them. The pants are very tight in the thigh area. I don't think I can wear my liner with these. But I guess after some break in they will fit better.

Haha...no problem man, that's why I'm here. I love helping others where I would want to. It's hard to find such a great deal like this. For some of us that don't have an endless wallet any help is well appreciated.

I just got news that my new Shoei RF1100 is being shipped tonight and will be here in 2 days!!!

A* boots run crazy big?! I have those same boots and I wear a size 8 in shoes and a 6.5 in those boots lol

but youre totally right those boots are comfy as hell. I love mine. How much did you get em for from here? Now that I know my sizes in stuff I can start buying online more. lol. It would have taken me forever to guess my boot size if I hadnt gone to cycle gear.

Thanks a lot man...saved me a ton of money....Riding in Hawaii is awesome. Nice scenery and best of all...practically year long riding season. back in December it rained pretty much everyday for a week or two, but i still rode...and cleaned my chain etc a lot ...drivers are CRAZY! so being highly attentive is a must..Lots of twisties here (on Oahu) and a few good places on Kauai (my home island). Have not been to other islands enough to see what kind of twisties they got though. If you look up 808yewtube's youtube chanel, she has lots of riding videos that feature Hawaii's great scenery.

Finally posting some pics of the SP-1 gloves. Due to weather I have only had the chance to ride with them twice.

They are breaking in nicely, still a little stiff and snug but I like them so far.

I just took my bike out for a ride today. 53 degrees in mid New England winter is awesome. The bike started right up and still ran like a dream.
The new gloves (SP-2) definitely need break in. My left hand is particularly sore due to clutch control.
The boots (SMX5) are awesome so far. I can "feel" the gear much better now. They are comfy too.
Haven't had chance to use the pants yet.

I have the smxR boots and one weird thing I noticed was that they ate (literally chewed) the rubber on the shifter pedal after a couple of days wearing them :0. Prior to getting them, I wore regular boots and the wear on the rubbers were minimal, if they were at all. But I guess the protection they offer is worth sacrificing the rubbers on the pedal...

I noticed that on a pair of my boots awhile ago, fixed it with some 2 part epoxy.

Wish I would have seen this earlier. Might have been able to score a jacket in my size.

GP-P Plus is at $189.99, that's nuts!

Depends what you are looking for and what size. This is a closeout and there are alot of people looking at the same place. Who knows when the next big deal is.
