Shameless Self Promotion

... is usually not my thing. But I've completed 3 years of track riding with fastest lap videos from (almost) every trackday I've been to. I do it to satisfy my documentation itch. I love keeping records of any progression. Comparing my first trackday ever to last is tons of lulz (to me). Or seeing how much I slowed down and tensed up after my first crash ever. I don't know it's nice to look at my fails and wins in 3rd person. Makes me understand what I'm going through better if you know what i mean...

So sub if ya want and make me feel better about myself and justify my efforts

https://www.youtube.com/user/TrackingGurk

PS: I might start adding dirt stuff eventually. I'm getting some dirt riding coaching this weekend. Then early '15 I'll buy myself an offroad bike and go trails or tracks. We'll see.
PPS: Youtube doesn't always show who's subbed. So If you'd like, drop your youtube username. I'd love to see your videos too!

Also subbed and jealous that you get some coaching in the dirt. I don't know of any dirt schools around here but I've gotten to ride with some pretty experienced people so I just try to absorb as much as I can.

If you've never ridden in the dirt before it's a whole new world. Get ready to be getting loose and fighting for traction almost constantly.

Yeeep. That's why I want it. I think it'll help with my regular track riding a lot. Both fitness and techniquewise..

And yeah I'm super lucky to have Ken Hill locally. I took some asphalt coaching from him and his team. Now we're mixing some dirt in!

^^Agreed- Everything 4theriders does is always pretty cool (If you really want to be inspired to race more, look up the AFM 2010 banquet video by them. I watch it before every race weekend.) I'm still mad jealous that I haven't taken Ken Hill's school yet myself.

But I mostly just wanted to post Gurk looking all exhausted

I like the 2012 banquet video the most but I've always loved the quality of videos that they put out.

I've been using the 2010 for workout motivation though My puny body is not ready for 3 days of real speed (600) yet

that's what I try to do at least

"Oh track weekend next month that I need $1,700 for" *looks at bank account* *calls up manager* "I'll take the bloody day shifts that put me up to ~70hrs/week until the end of january" *hangs up*

edit: I never realized I hadn't commented on the riding

your riding looks so smooth and consistent compared to mine and subbed

Awww, but the 2012 video doesn't even have a speech! "This is a completely different kind of test- One where passion has a funny way of trumping logic" <3

that's why the 2010 is better motivation

I like the 2012 more because there's more footage

this makes me wish I could just race bikes at the track every weekend that'd be the coolest thing ever, especially if I could make it into the rc390 cup but I'm slow

I did 14 race weekends this year across 4 different organizations not including trackdays and dirt bike stuff. I meant that more as a "if you only do cocaine 364/365 days a year and aren't currently shaking...." kind of way

That's pretty much my ideal, someday I'll be up there. Gotta make mad $$$ though to do it though.

I'm feeling like I'll be dropping about $5,000 this year on riding at the track which just feels insane to me but I know it's worth it.

Your gunna need a bigger boat wallet. Double that... at least.

EDIT: Well, my bad. Depends on how many different days you want to roll through hotpit.

oh yes, yes I will. But for now it's what I've got. Season opener is running me $2,100 including the cost of the "new to me" gixxer and every other track day is $300 excluding the mid-o trip that is $750.

so that's 12 days across the year for $5,000 assuming I manage to not crash, very possible. This isn't including the $500 in mods I have planned for the 250 or tires.

This is while I'm also paying tuition, books, insurance, etc, etc, etc. I wish I had more $ for it but unfortunately I don't at the moment. I am going to try to pick up a second job in the summer (maybe I'll pull off what katie did and work as a bike tech during the day) to potentially increase the number of days at the track.

if I get lucky I'll get $ for track or track day coupons for christmas

Thank you for returning the favor! :-) I have some footage that is ok but I'm definitely looking to produce better material in the upcoming season. If you check out my "Liked Videos", though, there are a bunch more from our MCRA 250 races.
