Rear brake "sticky"

So if i use my rear brake, when I get of the bike its hard to push it around.

Its like the brake is not releasing fully. However if I have a bit of a hill so I can reverse the bike for a bit it seems too loosen up quite a bit to the point i can move it around more comfortably.

Any Ideas?

I would lubricate the guides of the pads, if a full service and cleaning is not possible.

And don't mix brake fluid types.

You can mix brands, but not type (DOT 3/4/5). Correct me if I'm wrong though, this is the information I ran into when I had to bleed my brakes.

Sorry, for not being clear enough. Right, don't mix DOT 3/4/5.

there are exceptions, like if i remember you can put dot 5.1 in 4, but not 5 in 4 or vice versa.

if the brake is sticking, its dangerous to ride on it. at very least bleed the fluid and unstick the pistons. push them out and clean the surfaces then push them back in. make sure you flush the brake line / passages to get all the crap out

I also think 3 and 4 can go together, but 4 and 5 cannot?

Just did a little google search: DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 are hygroscopic (big word that says it readily absorbs water from humid air, basically) and they are (polyethylene) glycol based.

DOT 5 is silicone based and as such is hydrophobic (repels water). DOT 5 has a higher boiling temperature, and in addition better maintains its viscosity at high temperatures. Lastly, it's also a plus because it is not caustic (or at least not quite as bad). It's downfall is that it absorbs air instead.

By mixing 3, 4, or 5.1 you will essentially adjust the boiling temperature.
