That's pretty long for a city course isn't it? 3.8 miles (almost twice as long as Monaco). Viewed from an on-board camera it has an "Irish road-racing" feel to it.

With Macau, it all the walls... with Nelson it's 2 miles of 100mph bumps and potholes.

I'm looking forward to seeing just how bad nelson is next season, I've heard a lot about the surface being terrible

Macau has a nice surface and some pretty clear brake markers but you're right, one mistake can cost a lot there

Well for me, I have experienced certain profound things in my travels trying to go fast.

Love riding tracks in the wet... except Mid-Ohio. I am gunna try to get a piece of it this season to have it analyzed. It's one of the few tracks that will close/cancel events during the rain.

All the walls at Thompson were interesting but not even comparable to the above track.
The cliffs and stuff at Palmer were a non event once you ride it, maybe Macau is similar but I doubt it.
The bumps at Nelson are unlike any other track I have ridden. It's a true "riders" track, you will have to learn to use your legs to help with things. If you lock tight onto the bike at Nelson, it will be a fairly violent ride.

Each one of these more "extreme" tracks has taught me many things that the everyday rider has no clue about.

They're more for the cars to protect the environment

The thing that freaks me out is how close their heads come to the walls.

Inches. At speed. Over and over, every lap. At least with the IOM, you get a break from that kind of insanity.

IOM you don't really get a break mentally, it all melds together and you can end up forgetting where you are

cameron donald said in an interview a while back that he tends to stick to the middle of the road a lot just in case the left he thinks is up ahead turns out to be a right or vice versa

It's no different than a regular road course just the consequences are higher. And yes I have race that race just not our 250. Yamaha America gave me some 230 hp R1 that was bored out to 1300cc or something. Overall the most insane two weeks so far in my life.

I my God! I have to pull my undies out of my butt just from looking at it. That makes the TT look like a ride in the park.

I felt calm watching that. I'd love to ride that track. Obviously I'd be slow. It looks fun though!

The closest I'll probably ever get to riding that track is with the
GPBikes motorcycle game :

http://www.gp-bikes.com/?page=downloads

The Macau track was a 3rd party download that I think I got from :
