I'll give you a handicap of 8 oz of HP sauce. Use it wisely. BRAAAAAAAP

Seriously though, we should make a point to get with the same control rider in the N group for the 1st day, then see about the I group the second day. We can have some fun that way.

So is A, I, and N nothing like A, B and C? Because in C group I got passed by more than half the people out there that day. In C group no inside passing. The CVMA racers do B group on 250s I think

Advanced - full track and no rules
Intermediate - passing, with some rules.
Novice - school in the morning, open sessions in afternoon. No passing until the afternoon, then it's only on the back straight. It gets kinda annoying when you run up on people. So don't worry, you'll do fine.

Nah, it's perfect for the 250. The whole back half is tight and technical and the straight gives you a little resting time. After the control riders mentioned how annoying it is to be hero-passed on the straight, most of that stopped.

Oh, and you can top out the little ninjette as long as you get a good drive out of turn 5.

...you gotta work on those tight corners before worrying about passing. Ya'll got some big sweepers out on those SoCal tracks

You and I both have a lot of learning to do before we worry about going fast. I've seen videos of your track time. They look like mine. We both need work yo. You'll like it. Trust me. Mid-O is a great track.

Jiggles, a N group track day at mid-ohio is not the average track day. You will have CSS style drills for the first 4 sessions. 1 control rider to 3-4 riders. The no passing rules and such are just part of those drills, no big thing really. Don't go in expecting it to be as good as CSS but it is called "The Mid-Ohio School". Novice is further broken up into smaller groups based on pace. If you can ride it... you will get to go fast and passing/leading is part of the drills as well.

Trust me, take the time to learn the lines of this track and get settled & comfy. It's real techy on the back half. It's hilly with blind corners. The keyhole and carousel are a b*tch too. Starting at turn 7, it will feel more like a canyon run vs a race track.

At any time during the day, if you think your ready to make the jump to the I (B for you Cali riders) group, just let me know. I will do what I can to make it happen.

Here @Jiggles In order to pass in the back half of the track, you have to take lines that are kinda odd. And honestly, you have to be kinda aggressive. This is the I group, just so you know.

Traffic was horrible for me that day. God... rolling off mid corner, off line and such, surprised I didn't bin it. But it's my fault for signing up in the I group for a nice lazy day on the track.

If I get that, I will consider doing the track days with you guys since I'd technically be able to just go out and buy another bike if something goes wrong (not saying im crashing!! lol). Will let you know how it plays out!

I'm in if I have a good portion of money saved by then (which I should). I'll definitely need my knee dragging fix, its been so long. Its $175 a day? Any special preparations we have to make? Like replacing the coolant with water or something?

Your questions;

Its $175 per day

ADVANCED and INTERMEDIATE GROUP machines must use a non-ethylene glycol coolant. Water and/or water wetter, or propylene glycol solutions such as Evans, Engine Ice, Liquid Performance, or 7th gear, are permitted.

If you are in Novice or Intermediate, be ready to tech for the next group up at any time. If you can't pass tech for the next group, you can't go faster . Which is why I say just go ahead and run water wetter or engine ice.

Full rules are found here under "Requirements".

I have done these kind of days before. I doubt we will have access to the garages, so plan on being under the easy-ups away from the paddock area. I will blow the dust off my old generator and have 2 110 outlettes from the back of my Durango for phones, cams, laptops and other small items.

Let me know if there is anything else I could bring to make your day more enjoyable.

Actually, when trying to sign up, there are options to do a 2 day track event from 9a-5p. So we can essentially sign up for the 9-5 slot if we register for the both days, and is cheaper (excluding the discount you're working on). 3:30a-9 slot is for those registering for one day.

I still like the 3:30a-9p slot.

Falmouth KY to Lexington OH = 3.5 hours each way. Made the trip 7 times last year. It's not bad at all. Try Cincinnati OH to Jennings FL, 11 hours each way. Now that is a long trip.

Yea, 3:30 - 9 is great, lets stick with that. Now I will have to keep myself from registering for the early sessions too.

With that many riders, garages will be prime real estate. Rent early!

The problem isn't so much the longer drive. Like I said in the ohio riders thread, I have a wedding to pay for this year so a lot of fun money is going to that unless we have most of the stuff paid off in advance. That's why I can't set any dates in stone since chances are I won't have a good idea until it's a lot closer. If I had it my way I would already be signed up.

From Hudson, it was an easy 1:20 drive. Just head south, and go a little past 30, then wind your way through Lexington

now I'm confused. I'm looking here: http://www.midohio.com/School/Course...e-Track-Riding

and the two days we've been looking at (June 21 and 22) are both listed as 3:30-9:00pm. Are we doing both of those or just one? I'm lost.

But I'm doing 2 track days back to back darn it!! I want that extra learning time.

@nycsteve - I just called them. It's an error on their site and they will be fixing it.

This is the only 2 day option
06/21-06/22/13 Two Day PTR - Novice Level 6/21/2013 3:30:00 PM 6/22/2013 9:00:00 PM

Of course you can buy an individual day as well but the times are set. 3:30PM - 9:00PM

Cars will be on the track from 9-3pm.

I was just also told that they will provide dinner (grilled chicken/bbq chicken/burgers) for that night but sessions will continue during dinner. Meaning, the track stays green and you basically only get a 30 min lunch break.

I must've put in a wrong address then ha. That's a lot easier to do..

By the way, what's the average cost for trailer rental?

On, a sad note. No group discount aside of the Forum2013 code (-$10).

Renting a UHaul is about $15 a day plus any deposit they require.

But I'm doing 2 track days back to back darn it!! I want that extra learning time.
They originally had a 2 day track day for cheaper during the earlier part of the day (9-3:30). They fixed it now. See Chris' post below.

Also, I will most likely do both days as well. I already have 1.5 track days reserved for this year.

This is the only 2 day option
06/21-06/22/13 Two Day PTR - Novice Level 6/21/2013 3:30:00 PM 6/22/2013 9:00:00 PM

Of course you can buy an individual day as well but the times are set. 3:30PM - 9:00PM
Yeah I see the fix. Thanks for clearing that up! Now, the current 2 day is from 9-5 but it's I group anyway... lol

I'lll reserve my spot as soon as you get us the rest of that info on the discounts. How many people/bikes allowed per garage? I want to reserve one because I will for sure be going once I reserve, and I'll share. I just don't want folks to waste money when they can just chip in.

Forum2013 - (-$10) is the only discount code they will give us

It's normally 4 bikes to a garage - I will see if I can rent the garage right beside yours. So between the 2 garages we can get 6 more riders in out of the sunny weather we will be having.

Price is at $195. With code would be $185 but, code not working!?
