just watched the video, then I thought about my own experience there

then this thought popped into my head "where the hell did the straightaway go?"

Replaced my battery and the bike still won't start. I'm anticipating a hefty bill to fix it so I won't be able to ride with y'all. I would need new tires on top of whatever is wrong with the bike for it to be track-worthy. I might make a trip and skip school for the weekend to see everybody. Chris, don't buy any food for me, if I do go I'll get that figured out.

I can't make this trip either. They raised fees for school this semester and I can't take out more loans. They did the same thing last year. You take out loans for the entire year in the fall, then raise fees in the spring :/
Plus my bike is in the shop for who knows how long.

You're welcome.

Any extra money I have has to, at this point, go toward my AT hike. I had budgeted enough for some other things to be thrown in there, but my medical bills put a kink in those original plans. I'm even cutting back my beer!

that's like me cutting back on red bull

I saved $560 in november and have saved thousands since as a direct result of drinking less red bull and more water

Wow!
This was a consistent energy drink habit that extended for something like 2+ years where I didn't go a day without an energy drink. The withdrawl from it was hell, and I still love me my energy drinks but I can't drink that much anymore now that I see how much I was spending on it and I know it's awful for my health.

basically I treated red bull like an engineer treats coffee, like the source of life

I should throw a red bull/monster sticker on my bike as they're practically sponsoring my track activities by me not drinking them anymore

Hey, I'm an engineer and I drink coffee! But usually only 2 cups per day...

I like the sponsorship idea!

Congrats on breaking the habit. Shocking.

Needing $$$ to get to the track is a hell of a motivating factor for me

the withdrawl symptoms lasted a week, that is to say a week of straight headaches. This from a guy who sold the local rite aid, 7-11, and royal farms gas station out of red bull at the same time (opening week of the restaurant I work at I worked for a little over 110 hours in one week so I had a lot of red bull that week)

We gunna have a great time in novice one more time. I got some homework for you.

Take a few random laps from your video and mark the lap times but don't dwell on them so much, just make a note. Now... close your eyes and replay a lap in your head. Use a stopwatch if you need. Compare the times, memory vs. video. How far are they off? Which way + or -? If they are 30sec's + off, let's work on some visual skills and markers.

Also, lemme know which bike(s) you're bringing when you know for sure. I will change up as needed based on the bike your riding, but honestly... I don't see it working out much different. If you're bringing a 600, Jennings will somewhat feel like a new track for a session or two as you get your wits about you. For example; turn 2 feels much different on something with near 100hp. We will cover more in the paddock.

The real question is, would turn 2 still be flat out on a 600

I will do that exercise multiple times between now and the time of the trip

But of course. Best work up to that though, it's not for the timid.

oh for sure, even getting up to WOT on the 250 there was a trip that corner is wildly deceptive in terms of the speed you can carry there, even being on a 250 I was never passed in turn 2 and gained on a few people there as well. But that was in novice where people are learning the speed they can really carry through corners

Just watched a few videos, best time was actually a 1:39 I'd say I did pretty well last trip off of that alone though the average time is a 1:44-1:46
