My ninja won't turn on.

Hi, new here. So I went to the bank, and came back to start my bike. Nothing would turn on not even the lights. So i thought it was the battery. I try to jump start the bike and all light turns on (Neutral, High beams, etc). I turn the motorcycle on, and it started good. As soon as I take out the jumper cables, the bike starts dying and the rpm when all the way to 15,000. Please help.

Welcome Julio!

Start with a good full charge on the battery, then check the battery while cranking (under load) and then again while running. Let us know the voltages.

The battery is probably toast.

You can try charging it until it reads 12.7V (100%), but it may drop off to zip as soon as you hit the button.

What you described is not uncommon for a bad battery. I've had the same thing happen to a car battery, and it was junk.

Make sure your battery terminals are completely tight. If they get loose, weird things can happen. It may very well turn out to be a bad battery, but tightening the connections down with a socket (don't just use a screwdriver) is never a bad thing to check.

Good point - definitely check and snug them down.

Also check the battery voltage when you hit the button, and let us know what it is, like Chris suggested.

Possibly a charging problem. I hate electronics, so don't ask me how to fix it.
