Seat Cowl (picture added)

My seat cowl showed up today! It's a bit more involved than the new-gen. There is a bracket that must be installed on the bike to use it. This makes swapping the seat out more involved. I'll post some more pics later.

The forum won't let me post it from my iPhone. I know I've done it before. Weird.

I haven't been able to find a seat cowl online for the 300 yet. Anyone have some links or maybe better search parameters?

I haven't seen the 2013 300 on any parts site yet.

I ordered it from the dealer when I bought the bike three weeks ago. Just came in on Thursday. It was a hell of a lot more expensive than the new-gen cowl. It was $147.

As with the new-gen cowl, some assembly is required. The cowl comes with a bracket which you must install on the tail which prevents the seat from being installed. If you ride two up often, the rear cowl may not be for you because of the extra time needed to remove the bracket. Using a tongue and groove at the rear and the locking pin on the front, it is much more secure than the new-gen. All in all, I like it - it enhances the already great appearance.

It also added just enough secure space for a pair of glove liners and a neck gaiter. Now I have a place to stash them as it warms up part way through a ride.

Thank you for the information. My dealer wouldn't let me order mine until it was confirmed to be available for order so I will be calling them tomorrow since surely it is now available if you were able to get one from your dealer.

Thanks for the info on the install and I like the idea of it being more secure and I will never ride 2 up so I am good there as well but will gladly use the extra space you speak of for the exact same items plus a wind liner I like to stash as well that packs down micro.

Love the PIC!!! I can hardly wait to get mine now. Looks SHARP....

Thanks again!

Got a part number? I have a feeling the two dealerships in my area are going to have a hard time finding it.

My computer seems to hate me tonight for some reason so there might be a triple post showing up soon. With the part number you provided, I found two places on the net that have it for less than MSRP.

Ever thought about getting smaller reflectors for the front? I got the smaller one off ebay. I have red ones on my license plate.

While I agree reflectors look horrible...they are helpful with cagers seeing you.
A perfect example would be at sunrise or sunset, when the sun is in their eyes.

That solo cowl looks good!

I really like the looks for the 300 alot but that little black pad on the seat cowl looks like a tampon or something - just doesn't look good on there to me. I really liked the looks of the seat cowl on the 08-12 bikes, shame it appears the new one doesn't do as well.

To each, his own. I can't tell if you're serious or not, but a tampon? Surely, you can describe it better than that? Lol

Talking Rear Seat Cowl Install

I got my seat cowl about two weeks ago. I ordered it through my dealership. From my understanding, when I ordered it a month ago there was word that it was going to come out in two shipments and there was already a backlog of orders for them, so I was not expecting it until late to early January. But Christmas came early for me

True to my form, I did a little vid for you guys. ENJOY
