Seems my riding days are numbered-at least for a while.
In the next two weeks I will be starting six months of chemo for my CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia). Hopefully it will not be a big deal and I will be able to resume riding soon.
I was diagnosed almost five years ago with this type of Leukemia and have been on what is called Watch and Wait (No therapy till you need it). Well, the waiting is now over and I am ready to start fighting. I may not be able to ride but I will continue to chime in on the forum whether you like it or not . Best of health to you all and keep the shiny side up. Jeff

You can do it, Jeff!
As long as you're physically up to it, riding might turn out to be great mood therapy throughout.

Jeff, we really value your insight here and are happy to hear you'll be checking in. We'd like to hear how you are doing, and with some extra downtime in the next 6 months, you'll probably be reading a few motocycle books. We'd love to hear all about it. Take care, and if you are down, stop on in and say hello.

Thanks Guys. It is great to have my Internet buddies pulling for me.
Looks like I'll start treatment on either the 14th or 21st of this month. The treatment protocol is six months long and consists of of 5 days of infusion repeated monthly. The first day of each cycle is an all-day ordeal followed by 4 days of stopping in for an one hour drip. Hopefully, I will only be a mess a couple of days out of each month. Monday being the long day will no doubt be the worst (Of course Mondays always suck so that will be appropriate ). Cheers. Jeff

Jeff, Best wishes. As my main man, Lance Armstrong said, "I don't have time for cancer" Remember that we are here for you. Feel free to PM me at any time. When I went through my battle, I found LAF.com most helpful. My belief is that the Lance Armstrong Foundation has done an incredible job with our battle with cancer. This is a battle that can and will be won. Check them out. It is the best freebie on the planet.
I had surgery just yesterday for a couple of fairly large melanomas. My last bout with cancer was a six and a half hour stint in the operating room six years ago. I have every intention to ride for many years. Definitely feel free to call me. I'll be there for you. Also, you might want to pick up Lance's book "It's Not About The Bike" Very inspirational, powerful. It definitely changed my life. Worth checking out.

Half way through round one. An update.
First of all, thanks for all the support.
I am half way through my first of six treatments. So far, doing well with minimal discomfort. First day was a loooooong one with one nasty reaction to the chemo that had the nurses hopping (yea, I puked). Otherwise I feel pretty damn good and am trying my best to kick cancers ass up and down the street. Not riding now. I am on three prescriptions, steroids, and the chemo drugs. Need things to settle a bit before I hop on the bike. Take care everyone and keep the shiny side up. Jeff
