engine stalls when up temperature
hi.
I have a 2003 ninja 250r. today I wanted to go for a ride and the battery was empty. I took my jump starter and bike started right away. I let it idle a little bit and took it for a short spin. turned it off.it didn't start anymore, also it cranked. 15 minutes later it started after engine cooled down. I took it for a ride and 1 mile away from the house I went in neutral and engine stalled again. couldn't get it started. I tried so often, that battery also went dead.i walked back home to get my starter. connected it, and it started right away. as soon as I got home it stalled again after idling in front of the garage. that's where I left it now. do you guys have any ideas what it could be? please let me know |

Yep.... you need a new battery Mike. It's not like a car, bikes do all kinds of strange crap when the battery is weak/dead.

In order to produce sparks, those plugs need juice that the battery is not supplying.
If in good condition, that battery cannot be charged by the bike's generator in a few miles, it needs overnight charge from a wall charger (no more than 1 Amp). I agree with Chris, unless you can slow-charge that battery and verify that it retains the charge, ........... and also welcome you. Please read this: http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Why_you...eeds_a_battery http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/How_to_...attery_is_dead
