Ah now I see, "Winter test" being the black unpainted fairings that race teams tend to use, black because they are Carbon fibre, these aren't Silly Kawasaki, they should just have called it "Noir" like Ducati etc, as in the Black Edition !

Agreed they should have used some other naming convention. I don't think most people will know "Winter test". Whereas "Black Edition/SBK Winter/Kuro/Noir" would just inherently sound cool from a marketing perspective.

Pretty looking bike. Wonder if it means a 150 is ultimately in store for the next round.

My guess is that they just did a copy and paste of the "spec sheet" and not a full write up for this specific model

150 on a 300... geeeezzzz. I'm sure it looks sweet, but still...

Maybe they're phasing new stuff in slowly to hold off a model update?

EDIT: spec sheet that I'm seeing in the link says 140.

I like the graphics and taller windscreen.

However, the color scheme for the 2017 in blue is my favorite.

More importantly than size of the rubber, is the quality of it, as it appears they actually show some decent OEM rubber on that one with Bridgestone S20's.

Finally a 300 ninja with tires you don't immediately have to remove when you buy the bike.

The width is important. Very few people on this forum recognize the original 140 tire sizing for what it is - a budgetary concession only, and not optimal on a 4" rim.

I like that windshield too. Looks like it doesn't have the two ribs the original has. Those ribs make it hard to put on number plates.

I am starting to worry about 2017 EU models, both the Ninja 300 and Z300 are gone from the european site. People looking for this kind of bike are probably making their minds up soon so they can order and have the bike delivered in spring. I don't understand what Kawasaki are waiting for.

I would imagine the 300 is going to get the same exhaust that the new Versys 300 is getting. It's Euro4 approved and they probably just aren't done adapting it to the Ninja.

Euro4 is a monsterous pain in the ass for all the makers. Give them time.

I honestly think they should come up with a USD fork instead.

Probably not worth the cost. Also, the modders would probably cry foul now that Ohlins has a cartridge kit for the regular forks, and people can buy gold valve emulators as a cheaper option.
