Unhappy Sadly, I had to quit riding.

I haven't posted in a long time but had to let you know I have decided to quit riding. Medical issues (possibility of bad bleeding, if hurt, due to my current cancer meds. Otherwise I am doing great.) have caused me to sell my Ninja to a brand new rider. I convinced him that the Ninja 250 was the best beginner bike out there.

I have directed the new rider to this forum. Hopefully he will become a member (If he does, be gentle, LOL.)

I had a great time riding the bike for the last 9+ years and will keep some awesome memories. Further, I had a wonderful time on this great forum.

No regrets here.

Have fun and keep the shiny side up.

Even though you are no longer riding you can still pop in and post from time to time.
Take care of your health. Hopes for a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear Jeff. Knowing some meds increase risk factors beyond a person's tolerances to participate in certain activities. I feel ya... When some of my friends gave up riding, some went to cars, some with to rc planes, others with parasailing lol.

Got any perspective hobbies or activities planned to take the place of riding?

Don't be a stranger!

Jeff,
I'm sorry you have to quit riding but you have to do everything you can to beat the big C. I lost my Dad and my older brother to cancer in the past few years and I don't want to lose you too. You've had a great run in motorcycling and the memories of our good times are always with us.
I'll be heading to my annual journey to Mid Ohio in July and look forward to doing some visiting with you if that's OK.
Wishing you all the best, Vic

Kick cancer's ass, beat the ever loving crap out of it, then when you're off the meds, there'll be another bike for you. Then you can make more memories!

Don't be a stranger in the meantime. 9 years of riding gives you a lot to share with others.

Sorry to hear this, Jeff. It sounds like it was a well-considered decision, and hopefully once you kick its butt you'll again have options to figure out what you'd be able to accomplish at that point.

My cancer is in a real solid remission (for the last couple of years ) so I am doing great kicking cancer's ass.

The drug I am on I have to take forever, for now. So it looks like a sports car is in my future. I need go get back into RC sailplanes too.

Vic, I'd love to catch up so see me when you pass through. I have some parts you might like

I'll continue to pop in on the forum and say hi. Thanks for the continued invite.

Jeff

Best of luck and do stay in touch. This forum is about people not bikes. We have a common interest in the 250 ninja. But it is a little more, like just a good place to hang out.

Oy. I'm sorry you had to give up riding but glad you're in remission! That's a great thing. Enjoy your new sports car when you get that.

Your spirit seems to be in the right place, sorry you have to give up riding. I wouldn't condone it but I will give you a pass for now. But I am watching you.

Best of luck, glad to hear that you're kicking cancer's ass though it is sad that you can no longer ride

what kind of sports car are you thinking of? I feel a miata would be a good transition, the convertible top allows for some feeling of freedom and air flow like a bike and it's certainly a fun car

As a firm believer that riding a slow bike fast is the most fun, I have been seriously looking at something with an, um, Italian flair ....

Not mine, I swiped the photo from the net.

I live really close to you in a neighboring city. Along with my ninja, I've also got a hot hatch- if you do end up getting something like that, let me know and we can go for a drive or 2
