Rebuilding the cluster

So I just recieved a cluster today from someone and have noticed some flaws either pre existing or caused during shipping. The rubber over the reset on the trip meter is ripped off the top of the button. I can either glue it down, or I was wondering if anyone has tried replacing it using a good one off another cluster.

Second the glass over the gas meter is cracked and I was curious if it be easier using my old face (which has one of the plastic pieces inside that screws in holding it flush and still (rattles) or try removing the glass from my ols cluster and attaching it to the face on the new cluster. EDIT: Could I just knock glass out and glue in a small piece of plexiglass?

I've considered just taking the speedometer out and swapping, but the fact 1 of the screws that secures the face doesn't work is unattractive to me.

I actually broke the plastic screw mount off the cracked face, gorilla glued it to the other and used that face so everything is good now!

I would like to comment on the build quality as well.
My bikes both have under 4K miles , always stored inside, necer been wet or rode in rain.
The 09 - randomly the RPM just quit. Nothing I could do to fix it Bought a brand a used gauge with 200 miles more on it just to fix it.
I kept the old one for spare parts.

Recently my '10 the fuel gauge is getting funky. You have to tap it to get it to read the fuel level.
No idea what would cause either of these issues

I can pull out the "junk" cluster and take a look

I've gone through 3 different speedometers in the past month. Buying and replacing so one I got working from cbinker has been a blessing lol

Those prices :P costs over a third what I paid for the bike to replace the whole thing lol but 62 for a replacement face wouldn't be bad if you bring your bike to meets and shows.
