My shift lever fell!
So I was riding to work this morning, and I went to shift up and didn't find the shifter. I looked down, and it was hanging by a thread, seemed like.
I pulled over into a parking lot, killed the engine, and took a look: Is this an easy fix? The kickstand spring also popped out, so if I put the stand up, it will fall right back down. Ugh. |

Well... 2 things;
Put the spring back in place. Get a new bolt to hold your shifter on. Both very simple fixes, will take you longer to find a bolt than to do the repair.

you'll need to get the part from the kawasaki parts dealer.
i've tried to find an equivalent at the hardware store but its a no go. always re tighten those parts blue loctite. and check then when you change the oil.

Relatively common problem, with that bolt loosening. When you replace it, loctite is your friend.

However, it is a pivot that should be disassembled, cleaned and lubricated periodically, together with the other two ball links.

You can find the shift lever bolt at the hardware store. Its a metric bolt. I forget the size. When you put the spring back on be sure not to bend it out of whack or it won't have the proper tension when the kickstand is up.
