Talking Ride Like A Hooligan

So I've been riding for about 12 years now. Dirtbikes and street bikes. I've notices lately that I enjoy cornering more than straight out speed as I use to. This being said we all know how flickable our little Ninjas are. I just got back from about a 100 mile mountain ride on a road I haven't been down in years. I must say that today was the best riding I've had with my 250 since I bought it in April. The road has just been paved within the past week so there wasn't a speck of gravel to be seen.

Rode as hard as I could today considering I still have the stock tires on. Just felt great after a week of city commuting to get out and release my inner hooligan. Sunday and Monday is about the only days out of the week that I'm actually able to get any good ride time.

So here is my question to you other riders. How often do you actually get out with your Ninja and do you ride aggressive or take your time?

Every weekend, mostly chasing 600's. I can pass a few of them on my favorite twisties.

At least once a week I take an extra long commute home and hit the canyon or scenic drive. At least once a month I like to take it up to the mountains and take a nice graceful ride in the twisties. The roads up there are in poor condition and are seriously tight and sheer cliffs but the view and clean cool air is worth it. Plus there is an awesome BBQ resturant to refuel at.

Get a supermoto if you want to really release your inner hooligan.

Motorcycle(s): Depends on the week you ask

I used to go to the Dragon 2-3 times a week. After paying for at least one Blount Co police officer's salary I've cut it back to maybe once a month. It isn't enough. I find myself acting a little nuts on the street. (I have the same personality profile as Chuck Yeager, what can I say?)

I talked to my fiance last night about getting a motard. He told me to just get a Ducati 848 instead. I think a motard would be hella fun though.

Agreed once a month is not enough. Especially if you live so close to Deals Gap. I'm about 60 miles from there.

I dont blame you for wanting to get back out there. It's amazing. I'm hoping to make it out for at least one day of the Gap meet this weekend.

Your worst roads are better than our best roads here in Ontario. It's not fair. My Green Goblin aches for roads like that.

Sorry to hear that. I still haven't got a name for my little red yet. Green Goblin is pretty catchy

There's a park about 1/2 hour from where I live with lots of twisties (not sharp). To really start enjoying them you need to be doing around 100kph (62mph), but the speed limit is 60kph (37mph). At that speed it's a bit of a bore. The cops know this, so you can always count on them being around.

I see your point, but that gets expensive very quickly. Especially when lawyers are involved. Trust me.

It took 12 years to realize this?

everyone complains about the stock tires, from the Irc's too the Dunlop k630's. Iv put 10grand on my K630's, my rear tire is bald and showing meat( replacing soon with sport demons) and I was grazing pegs last week. If you can ride you can ride the hell out of these tires.
