OK, who is this?

I know this has to be someone from this forum. Green bike, all the gear, from Cali.

I'm sure if the highway patrol wasn't there it probably would of never happened. It looks like he started to bring the bike upright and then lost it. Panicked, stop looking to where he was going and tap the brakes? I'm sure the adrenaline was pumping at that moment feeling a little embarassed.

I'm pretty sure he came around that corner and nailed the front brake while down in the turn and did the classic low side.

I don't think he brought the bike up or just gave that brake a tap. He saw the cop and grap that brake hard.

Funny thing is, it didn't look like he was even going fast before the incident.

Yeah, it looks like he hit the brakes when he saw the cop. >_<

That's a ZX6R though, not a 250R.

The stupid thing is he was riding previous two corners nice and smooth, prob was exceeding the speed limit no doubt, saw cop did a oh **** move and grabbed brake. Should of just kept going and slowed down, most would happen is a speeding ticket. One of the reasons I like PA is that only the State Police can have radar all other cops must time you between 2 painted white lines...VASCAR.

Awesome, but that sucks even so. That's a pretty nasty place for a cop to hunt. I mean, it's one thing to nail bikers on a straight between corners, but waiting on the snake around the other side of a blind turn to nail someone when they need to be concentrating is just asking to crash them. Although, being the cop was facing the other way, I imagine he would have gotten away even if the cop did wave him over as long as he kept going.

I literally just got back from mullholand about 15 minutes ago. I've been riding that road a lot recently, but I've never actually seen a cop heckling people up there. It's so biker-centric that they usually seem to leave everyone to their own crazy devices. I wonder if he got a ticket.

The cop was most likely there because he had already pulled someone over there and was writing out his report.

Watch the video, his brake lights are on. His car was in drive just waiting to take off after someone. He started pulling forward up to the bike before the bike even stopped sliding, he was just sitting there waiting to go after someone.

If the guy would have just kept in the turn, the cop would have never caught up to him. O well, live and learn.

Haven't been to Mullholand much have you? That cop could HEAR him coming. As Zombie pointed out, it is real unusual for a cop to be just sitting on the side like that at Mullholand.

Nope, I live where it's pretty much all straight and flat, I dono what twisties are
I agree it looks unusual for a cop to sit there and downright dangerous if he was. Even a car coming around the corner too fast could freak out, lock his brakes and go out of his lane (extremely bad if there was another car coming the opp direction).
Just with how the car was in drive and how quick the cop reacted, it seemed like he was just waiting. He very well may have hear the bike and was waiting to go after the bike.

You guyz missed the entire purpose of the cop. The officer was sitting at that spot because there was oil on the road. He was slowing down cars going the opposite direction so when motorcycles came around the corner and fell, sliding across the road, there wouldn't be any head on crashes.

I could see that happening to me. I freak out every time I see a cop, I just can't break the habit. I gotta bad habit of chopping the throttle every time I see an oncoming car, until I can tell that its not a cop.

I've seen a cop in a similar situation, he was waiting after the apex of a clover-leaf on ramp for a highway. If a car/bike were to try and slow down, they could have easily hit the cop.

That sucks for the rider though, should have kept going.

I'm subbed to that author. I think he just spends his weekends out there filming bikes. He usually has at least one crash video every two weeks or so.
He used to have a video up where a Mazda Miatta or something like that came drifting around the corner and freaked when he saw the cop sitting there. Quite dangerous for people to be speeding and drifting on that corner, but the cop makes it much more dangerous.

I think the cop pulled over cause he needed to go relieve himself in the bushes but had to wait until the bike passed by.

You could be correct! Men are always relieving themselves in bushes.

So you like them landscaped (shaved into an art form)?

Looks like you could actually see this guy grab a handful of front brake and lowside it.... The shoes are a nice touch though, especially when it comes off and hits him. Wonder how his ankle faired?
