couple of issues

so i was able to ride around the neighborhood today after my crash at the track last week. I noticed a couple of things:

slightly bent handle bar; no problem, i can get another from woodcraft for 15$

the bike wont start when it is in gear. Basically it is as if the kickstand is down. It starts in neutral just fine, as well as shifts to first just fine. But with the kickstand up (and yes i made sure it was up) the bike would not start or even attempt to while it was in first gear.

And my brakes felt pretty spongy. It has not leaked any sort of fluids and i just got new ss brake lines installed about a week before the crash.

I will be going out of town for 2 weeks and this ride was the only time i had available to ride it around to look for problems, so this is all i could find. So what do you guys think?

Broken or loose clutch switch at lever I suppose. Could just bleed the brakes and see.

"A bike can be started:
in neutral with the side stand down and the clutch out
in neutral, with the side stand up and the clutch out
in gear, with the side stand down and the clutch in
in gear, with the side stand up and the clutch in "

When the bike gets upside down, some of the air in the reservoir can sneak into the system and get trapped somewhere as a bubble, creating the spongy feel.

Sure, that is an easy fix for now, starting in neutral. But Murphy's law dictates that when you need to go, it will not work for some reason. Take the time to figure it out before it causes you issues later.
