New rider from SoCal!
Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum (and riding) but it helped me a lot when deciding on my bike so I figured I would join. I'm taking the MSF course this weekend and i'm getting my bike (hopefully) today. It's an 08 black ninja 250...so excited. I will post pictures when I have it I can't wait to finally get to ride WITH my boyfriend and not just on the back. Once I become proficient at riding am I going to have a lot of issues keeping up with his CBR 600? and any other advice you guys have? I look forward to talking with you all!

I'd say don't worry about keeping up with him, because that may lead to you riding beyond your comfort. From what I've seen, that leads to accidents really quickly, and everyone hates seeing a rider down. But shiny on the new bike and license! Maybe I'll see you around on the road once I have more experience.

Get a lot of experience riding yourself before you hit the snake and once you do go take it at a very comfortable pace. Twisties like that are not meant for new people.

hi thar. good job on getting your own ride! don't push yourself at first. go slow. it may feel fine going quick on the back but when you are in control it is easy to make mistakes when you are new to the skill so just be careful and ride your own ride. don't try to keep up with anyone. i would say spend a month or two practicing before you try to hit the snake or gmr or anything like that

Hey guys! So I have my license now and i've been riding like crazy. It is such an incredible feeling I can't even believe it. My boyfriend has been coaching me..taking me places like topanga canyon to practice the twistys. We didn't get to go to mulholland, "the snake," yesterday due to very heavy rain but we might try today after work. Anyway just checkin in to let you guys know how I'm doing! Pics will soon follow I promise
