Jackets for "athletically built" guys? Brand recs?

I'm 6'2", 195, really broad shoulders and a narrow waist. I'm having a hard time finding jackets that aren't constricting in the chest/shoulders but that are snug/slim fitting in the waist.

Are there any brands you'd recommend that might work? I've been looking at some of the Rev'it jackets and couldn't get a great fit in the Alpinestars gear I tried on, same with Dainese. In the Alpinestars, the sizes that fit in the shoulders were huge in the waist. Seemed like a safety issue.

Thoughts? I'd really appreciate any recommendations or help.

Thats a better problem to have rather than the following problem:

Gear recommendation: Can somebody suggest jackets that will fit a person built like a cylinder with a big paunch?

Maybe you should try Teknic jackets. Or maybe find jackets with more waist adjustment?

The Alpinestars GP-Pro jacket 2012 model is good. You can adjust the waist, and the shoulders leave enough room for the athletic built people. I just got a month ago and it fits well. I'm 5 feet 9", weight 180. Broad shoulders.

i'm the same way op, except 5'7. Everyone ive talked to has always said go for some sort of attack fit type of jacket, like the Icon Overlord if you're athletically built. I have yet to buy a leather jacket and i dont think theres a whole lot, if any textile jackets with an attack fit, im currently rockin the Icon Contra though. i love it

Funny, I tried on the Icon Overlord and the waist was gigantic in the size that fit my shoulders. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

Cool, I'll check it out. Thanks.

Any experience with Rev'it jackets? Motorcycle Superstore has the Tarmac Air leather on closeout and it looks like a sweet jacket.

Nope, no experience. My first jacket was an Alpinestars RC-1 leather jacket, and when that got ruined in an accident with a deer I tried a bunch of different jackets and found the GP-Pro was most like it. The RC-1 fit me well, and I made sure the GP-Pro did before I purchased it. It has a slimmer profile than the RC-1 and it hugs the skin a little more. The RC-1, at the equivalent size EUR 54 / US 44 was looser than the GP-Pro.

Check out the speed and strength jackets. I found them to be nice for an "athletic" build. Dunno though, each person is different.

Good luck with your search.
