Highway speed in relation to rpm..

Just had a few questions relating to rpm's at highway speed..
Just put a new used motor in the ninja and took it for it's first long trip more than just around town... Almost 300 miles round trip...
Cruising on highway speedo said 75 mph I'm guessing it was more like 65 mph actual 75 speedo equals out to about 8700-9000 rpm and 80 is just under 9500.. Do those numbers sound about right.. Is it recommended to cruise at or above 9000rpm or should I look into possibly a front sprocket change to get the numbers down... I'm just concerned with the long term affects of running at 9000 rpm or over for a prolonged period of time

Sounds about right and nothing wrong with riding for hours at high RPMs. The lil bike loves da rrrrrrr's. Just keep the oil changed and full and ride on. A 15t front and 44/42 rear should make it much more mild.

With the Pirelli MT75's and 15/39 gearing, my 04 indicates 7500 rpm at 75 mph.
