Newbie, Asheville NC area

Have already availed myself of this site's info., friendly members and good data thus far.

Bought a 2nd Gen 2008 250R for the western NC roads after years of hauling 3/4-1 liter sport bikes. Look forward to carrying speed through the corners instead of grabbing a handful of brake with the attendant drama.

Ride safe, everyone.

Thanks...good advice. Back in '91, I took my GSXR 1100 out the weekend before my partner left for a 2 week vacation leaving me to run the show alone. Cool Saturday, cooler front tire, quick low side, very hot slide...started each work day soaking my underwear off in the shower where the night's plasma ooze had set up. Still have places where the hair don't grow !

Welcome to the site! Ashville would be close enough to get over and ride some nice roads.. you familiar with where hwy 178 crosses over from NC to SC and then intersects with hwy 11? BRP to 215,64 then 178 out of Rosman... very good riding!

Yep, a regular route for me and my weekend ride bud's...I ride with a 62 year old former Navy SEAL and Texas AMA champ..he weighs about 140lb and swaps between his Ohlins equipped GSXR 750 and RC51..he makes fast tight curves look ridiculously effortless.

Excellent... we'll have to meet for some riding for sure. pwelch was on rt 178 yesterday and took some pics of our group. http://pgwelchphotography.com/Motorc...28447293_v96Xb

We're Pics 351-427. He does some nice shots of whatever rolls down the road.

Glad to have another newgen in The Asheville area. I ride mostly back in forth to work and on the Parkway. Last week I ran to Boone and another day to Highlands.
I ride a red newgen with a tennis racket cover on left side.
I only been riding since Nov. and just past the 5,000 mile mark last week.

Howdy! Have you run 221 south from boon? I've been told it's a nice road... coming from Greenville via Rt 85 (Chesnee ext) to 221 and then all the way North to Boone on 221. about 300 miles round trip.
