Thank You rman666 for My New Jacket!!

@rmann666 thank you SO much for this new jacket! I appreciate it! I love it!

Perfect fit!

I will get more pictures later...bit late now, so I can't do as planned.

I found the box hiding...I could have had the jacket one hour earlier...I got a bit sad when I found out it was delivered, but couldn't find it...who new it was going to behind a garbage can!

Nick - I think it's great that you found a *free* jacket from a giving member. However, and other members can correct me if they feel I'm in the wrong here, I think it might be more appropriate for you to save things like free gear (and I've even seen you go for bike parts before) for people who actually need and use it.

Hope your permit test goes or went well and you'll be on 2-wheels soon.

Never too early to start ATGATT (even if it is on a riding mower...)

Be safe and get that license and bike.

You guys realize the whole mower thing is a joke right? I don't even have a riding mower. It seems like very few people on this forum actually have sense in them.

When I start to get more gear and a better bike, I'll probably take a beginner biker under my wing and help them get started right.

Nice jacket btw

Can I be your apprentice!? Thank you by the way. I really like the jacket. I can't imagine what a Alpinestar or Dianese jacket would be like compared to this. The quality is beautiful. When I put it on, it just feels safe.

this^^^

There is a few of us riding without proper gear, I for one only have boots, gloves, and helmet. Not upset that he got the jacket, so much as there is people that are in more of a need for proper gear. I don't think a huffy counts as a need for atgatt.

Okay leeme input in here. :S So i think as long as @nickjpass gets a motorcycle there shouldnt be to much negative joking because after all he is getting prepared but nick if you do not end up getting a motorcycle your going to get it lmao.

I mean after all theres riders with less gear but they have a motorcycle right? If they really wanted to be fully geared up they would get all their gear atleast before they start riding whatever they get. I mean if i didnt get all my gear i could of been riding a while ago on some cheap bike i bet. :P

I have the same jacket in black. It's a nice jacket. A little warm in the summer, but there's worse things than that to worry about. Now get a bike!

I need more gear. I'm going to get the gear required for MSF first. Gloves and boots. Maybe a helmet.

I don't think you're required to bring your own boots & helmets. Though the requirements may have changed from when I took the course which was years ago.

When I took the BRC, the gear requirements were ridiculous. None of it had to be motorcycle gear besides the helmet. All you needed was a long sleeve shirt/jacket, pants of some kind, any kind of boots over the ankle and any kind of full fingered gloves. Wool mittens would count. My class had helmets for use, but YMMV.

I wore all my gear besides my Dainese leather pants, because I didn't want to look insane lol. The other guys in the class still thought I was crazy, when I wore helmet/Dainese jacket/Handroids/Dainese boots.

MSF requires boots and gloves. Since I don't have any good protective gloves, and my boots no longer fit me. So I might as well just buy motorcycle gear.

When I took the MSF class you could pretty much wear any type of glove. I think some people even wore gardening gloves.

for the ohio msf, the gear requirements were somewhat of a joke. We just had to have all skin covered, and a helmet, and shoes that covered our ankles.

I borrowed a helmet, and it was so damn hot that I wore a long sleeve tshirt, and mountain biking gloves, which are all mesh except for the leather palms

either get your own helmet, or borrow a clean one from a friend that you know. They have loaner helmets at the course, but I'm a little weird about stuff like that sometimes. Germs and dirt give me acne, so I borrowed one from a friend, and cleaned it with an alcohol wipe before I used it.

The jacket looks great!

MSF provided the helmet in my class but I had my own anyway.

You might try craig's list for motorcycle boots. I wouldn't have a problem with 2nd hand boots if they are in good shape. You might find a good deal on a pair.

Plain leather motorcycle gloves can be bought new for $10-$15. I just bought a new pair of full leather gauntlet gloves for $11 on amazon. Its not worth dealing with used when new is so cheap.

Why do I have to be so nice!

You definitely don't need full gear for the BRC. I was the only one in my class that used an actual motorcycle jacket, motorcycle gloves and my riding shoes. If you invest the money and then don't actually enjoy the riding then what a waste. You've already invested a ton of time doing research... the money you've already spent should have just gone to pay for the class and then decide if this is the sport you are going to get into

BTW,
The jacket actually looks like it is really big on you. Once you are riding if the jacket isn't snug (almost form fitting) it will be a hinderance on the bike. (ask me how I know)

It's actually almost small. If I grow at all, it will be small. I haven't bought gear yet. I was going to get a pair of gloves and boots since I don't have any actual gloves or boots.
