ride to Ojai and vicinty

Kjohnson21, Manycavies, and I, the brewer himself, are planning a ride up to Ojai and the surrounding area on Fri, tomorrow. If anybody would like to join in, you are more than welcome to join in the engine reving as we scream through some canyons that we haven't been on before. We won't be going fast at all, (just ride in lower gears so it sounds like we are going fast) we will be leaving rather early, breakfast in Ojai, maybe, as the route we are looking at is around 300 miles or so.

Chime in if you are game and we will arrange a meeting place.

nb, kj amd mc

We might be hitting Palomar area another day this weekend. I am leaving the area so I have to ride as much as I can before I leave lil blue behind as I go to the frozen lands of the north.

Fun Ride

Had a blast in the area around Ojai, CA. This is a gorgeous mountain town up in the valley and it is away from the freeways.

Downtown, Ken (Kjohnson21) leaning against the post

Another View of Downtown

Dessert at the place we ate, can't remember the name, fantastic chocolate cake.

The aftermath of the dessert feast

Ken and Crissy (manycavies) at one of the overlooks that we stopped at.

The Ojai Valley

The valley above Ojai, with the road that we were riding on, from an overlook. We were at the side of the same road that is in the picture, just a few miles north.

The overlook and our bikes.

It was getting late and neither one of us wanted to ride unfamiliar twisties in the dark, so we rode over to Lake Casitas for some sunset pics and then rode the boring road back to home.

Lake Casitas at sunset

We had a blast that day

yes...

KJohnson21 and I went to Palomar today and it was COLD.

here is where we had some breakfast in San Clemente,
Good food, cheaper than Denny's and got more food. Its at the corner of El Camino Real and Mariposa

Going up South Grade road.

At the general Store, yes that is snow.

In the parking lot for the observatory, more snow.

Me, the brewer himself, standing beside my bike, wondering why a bike with Hawaii plates is doing in the snow. Lil blue complained rather frequently, she would howl at me for riding so much and in the cold. She must not like it very much. But she was nice to me on the way back, her radiator kept me warm on the ride back up I-5. Except where we had to stop for the border patrol. Then she howled again.

The Observatory

On the way back down, on East grade road

It was rather cold and windy. On the way back down, we came upon an accident, where another rider had fell in the road. A friend of hers that was in her group was stopping and warning traffic before they went around the curve and plowed in to them as they waited for the EMT's to show up. Luckly I don't believe she was hurt very bad.

I went through a tank and half of gas today, and about 3 this weekend. Doing my part to keep our oil companies from going belly up during this economy. (yeah I know, I can be a sarcastic SOB sometimes)
