MX boots
Has anyone here worn MX boots on a pregen? I'm thinking the crush protection would be nice on public streets, they're much less expensive than race boots, and the pregen is pretty upright.

Gunna be give and take at best. The extra protection will be awesome when you need it. However, the lack of ankle flexibility in the boot will make shifting a nightmare on the daily.

I would agree, they are probably great for protection but, at least the MX pair I have, would be horrible to try and shift with. The dirt bikes have a different height and distance for the shifter to accommodate large unflexible boots. Would be PITA on a street bike IMO.

MX, no. But dual sport boots, yes. What a PITA.

I recently purchased a pair of MSR Dual Sport Boots on closeout for $98.99 which have been great, but unless your pants are boot cut, your pant legs would have to get stuffed inside. My kevlar riding jeans barely fit over them. My Olympia riding suit fits over them fine.
http://www.ironpony.com/ipd/pi.asp/I...ual-Sport-Boot I added a $2 sticker to push the price over $100 so shipping was free. The sizing was spot on, at least for size 11. |

It would suck. Even if you adjust your shifter and brake pedal to compensate, the boot will feel really clunky and might push your foot pretty far out on the footpeg. You will also have to concentrate pretty hard every time you shift or brake lol. But the extra protection would be great, I agree! Sometimes I wear my mx boots on my supermoto but that's still much more of a dirtbike than the ninja 250.
