Possible Mods to help with being tall?

Hello, Just a quick question for you guys. Is there any mods / custom things you guys have done to counter the uncomfortable position I have when riding the ninja 250? I'm 6 foot 3 inches and I don't know if it was just that I haven't hopped on the ninja for 3 months due to the winter months but I felt completely out of place. I was looking at rearset adjusters but I don't know if that would help.

Things I have already done to help:

- Un-Lowered the bike (Removed Roaring Toyz Links and replaced with stock)
- Picked up a new rear and front tire, both being a higher profile tire

Any more ideas?

Alter the height of the handlebars?

Or get those tall dual-sports!

Rear sets will help knees fit tank better, but not an inexpensive item, as you do NOT want to cheap out on those.

GSXR 600 rear shock will help lift ass 1-2"

250 should be pretty much a standard fit bike, rider position and be 3/4 ths upright.
If you have clip ons this will be lowered up to 3" or so and can be replaced via stock or have a riser added to clip-ons to revert to stock height (or go more).

@Apex123, I'm as tall as you and for me it was good mods to get rearset adjuster (higher and more backwards) and also Woodcraft clipons, which I'd mount 50mm deeper and 30mm more to the front than the stock handlebars are.
One word about the GSX-R600 shock, the length of it is 315mm while Ninjette stock shock is 320mm - so the Gixxer shock will lower the rear by 15mm unless you get other, shorter, dogbones to raise the rear again.

It's the ZX6R shock which is longer (normally 330mm, with some 325mm also), the Suki shocks in best have 320mm length for 1000cc while 600 and 750 are same-same (maybe there are older models before 1999 which could be longer?).

I'm not quite as tall as you, but have a weird long torso and short upper legs.

I have now put woodcraft clipons on top of the top clamp, a corbin seat which feels like it lifts me up just a touch, and the last experiment ( that I have no done yet) is the rearset adjusters which I hope by taking it back will help with the cramped legs.

It’s too bad when physics and physiques get in the way of life. It’s kind of sad when someone of compact stature wants to be able to comfortably ride a dual sport adventure bike when they’d fit best on a low-slung cruiser.

I’m 6’2”. I’d love to own a Lotus Elise or a Karman Ghia. Unfortunately, I don’t fit: my head hits the roof and if the top’s off, I’m looking at the windshield frame. I had to settle for an SL500.

Inderveer’s right. If you’re a tall guy and you enjoy riding, try a dual sport. The big ones would be cool, but I enjoy my little (but tall) KLR250. Try out a KLX or a BMW or one of the other ones. You might really like it!

Just get one of each style!

These are sport bikes with standard ergo.
I am 6-2 and feel comfortable in my stock 2007.

Try to find out first what makes you so uncomfortable.
Adjust the pre-load of the rear shock so the rake/trail remains as specified by the manufacturer while you sit normally geared: 26 degrees/3.26 in (83 mm).

You can select your bike and height here and compare to other bikes:
