Just Can't Believe it...

Well guys, I got it!!! I rode it back home for 4 hours back home. Absolutely night and day compared to what I'm used to. The only think I would change is to put some higher handle bars or risers on it. Hands and arms were sore after an hour of riding on the highway. Love the power and the awesome exhaust.

Here are some pics so so pics, better ones coming:

Nice purchase! You'll get use to the clip-ons after riding it more. Just remember to work out your core and not be putting weight on your wrists/arms. If you do get rid of them, I'm sure some members might be interested in those clip-ons.

How was the handling on the bike on the way back? Did the front end feel stiff/jarring over bumps?

Nice looking bike! And after buying my new bike and riding it at first I had to get used to it as well. I sit up a little higher and lean forward a bit more causing a little soreness after a while. Just use more of your feet and use those pads on the frame for your legs to help keep your back up, and less of your weight pushing down on the bars. You'll get used to it after a few rides.

Got the same bike color fairings etc. I felt the same way at first and actually ended up getting used to the clipons. I purchased the SVRP 2.5" risers and in between ordering and installing the risers I actually grew fond of the stock clip ons. I ended up putting the risers on anyway since I paid 165 for them and couldn't return them. I must say I really miss the stock position. Give it a chance you may feel the same way.

I got my bike over the Memorial day weekend and I've but about 2000 miles on it so far. I think you are really going to love the bike coming from the 250 as I did. Plenty of power but very managable. Congrats

So far I have done some mods and maintenance: Throttle position sensor adjustment (highly recommended to reduce notchy throttle response), SW Motech rear luggage mount, flushed brake lines, changed oil, new tires, new brake/clutch levers, integrated mirrors. Let me know as you begin modding and how its going.

Now that you say that, overall it was fine. When I hit some large but sharp bumps (75mph), it would briefly make my throttle hand lose contact with the handle. Now I will tell you that road was terrible even in a car. Where I live now and where I'm going to school, I won't have to deal with bumps like that. The bumps were easily 3-4 inches at their peak and where at the most 4 inches wide, they were basically hitting speed bumps at the grocery but on the highway. Like I said before even the country roads near my in GA are fine compared to what I experienced in Akron.

Thanks everyone for the awesome comments!!! Better pics coming soon.

You'll also notice that after getting used to the PDRII's those stock Dunlops are a POS. I was sliding all over the place in those things. Downshifting or engine breaking takes up a lot of traction on this bike and my stockers which had 5000mi on them were completely inept particularly in the rain. Looks like your bike has the stockers too. How many miles did you get it with?

Ahhh, that was one thing I was going to look at here soon. The stock Dunlops are ok for now, but I got them with 1,500 miles on them. Are the Q2's the stock tires?

Congrats. On the sv, q2s are not stockers and are actually very nice sticky tires very similar to pdrIIs

Nice bike man! So jealous! I rode one of these about a week or two ago when a friend offered to swap bikes for a bit. I LOVED how it rode. The clip-on's will definitely take some getting used to but I'd say give yourself a chance to get accustom to them before deciding you want risers. Definitely plan on getting one of these as my next bike if I can.

Didn't see they were Q2's I thought they were the D220's which are the stock tires and they sucked.

I thought that the "F" was Faired and the "S" was Standard? I've definitely seen SV650S without clipons and lower fairings before.

Thought S was for sport, hence the clip-ons. I've seen an SV650S without the lower fairings but haven't seen one without the clip-ons.

10-4 just didn't want someone tossing some decent Q2s - they seem to be pretty good buns

The gen 2 models from 03-09 came standard as sv650 the sv650s has the upper fairings and beginning in 07 the lower fairings became available as an option. Still there are pre 07 models that have added the lower fairings after market. Beginning in 08 the model sv650sf became available with lower fairings standard (and include optional abs). The standard models in addition to being sans fairings have handlebars thus very different ergos from the S and SF models. I believe all gen 2s have the same drive train and power plant.

Haha, thanks guys. @robertkh100 look at what BlackNinja8 said. This was the first one I saw with lower fairings.

I'm so in love with this bike...Oh, and I'm posting my video here in a few.
