Continued from the other thread.....

Truf yo! It's not off-camber the entire corner, however it does flatten off near where the rough spot was at exit. I presume that is what made it look off-camber. The downhill outside of turn 8 looks like lowside land walking it but on the bike it's only slightly off-camber hahahahaha.

Yo, I learned a lot about that track while walking around it. The visual perspective is similar but you can take enough time to really look at what is going on with the track surface and geography. I even found some new reference points.

I can't wait until Oct. 1. You wanna come to hang and get a bite to eat after the day is done? I got my pit bike all sorted you can do wheelies in the parking lot. hahahaha

Damn. That had me fooled. Walking it or taking it on a bicycle while empty would really help.

hmmm october 1? That's a monday I'm at school and don't have a car while I'm here... I could swing it if it was a saturday, but a monday isn't going to work from me. If I had a car, I would you know I would rush my hw and get over there to say hi. Just watching you guys on the track would get me my fill for a bit. Maybe

I'm literally 1:27 west of Mid-O
https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=A...t=h&mra=ls&z=8

EDIT: is that your youtube channel Chris? I'm watching some more videos. I spotted my control rider on his Duc with red boots

Is that even going to fit you chode?

I ordered a 44 but then I was like man I'm super fat, so I canceled that and got a 46

42 is the smallest on the list yo. You already wore my 42 agv sport suit, so you know how that size fits. Or you buying a 42 and growing into it.

Keep looking yo, You will want a suit that breaths a little bit better for those really hot muggy OH days.

Yeah. that's a backup, but I'll keep looking. I'll use those measurements as a point of comparison.

I'm not worried about sweating. That suit really wasn't that bad I wear a textile jacket with a backpack normally, so the only vents I usually get are my arms, and the rest of me cooks.

@csmith12

This one comes in a 40: http://www.cyclegear.com/eng/product...uit/web1006297

It looks like a little better fit, but the inseam might be short. Question is still 40 or 42? idk, I ordered an EXO1000 in gloss black today for $109 shipped. Boo yah.

Assuming accuracy in their size chart, then 40 based on how my 42 fit you.

ok, so 40. That leaves me with... plain black.

I'm keeping that in mind. I will talk with the parental units about the suit

Nah, they aren't buying it for me!! psssh, I just like to talk things through with them because it makes them feel included. They tend to like when I spend money on gear instead of "upgrades" but still, I want to make sure they know I'm not just blowing my money. I also want to see what their perspective is on buying that suit on sale vs buying a better quality suit like S&S, A*, or Dainese later on. I just got a new helmet, and I got gauntlets and boots before my last track day and have been wearing those ever since, so idk which route they would prefer me to go with the leathers.

and yes, I already have a full time job lined up for winter break (more bicycle money), and my bakery job for thanksgiving. I'm working on getting an on-campus job in the ME dept, but god knows that might or might not work out...

lmfao k, my dad said he figured I'm a 42, I'm 6'2 200lbs and I figured that was a bit off. I originally ordered a 44 but then changed it to a 46, hope its not to big! (or to small for my fat ass, I have a nice ass afterall)

@csmith12, bummer. I read a little about track days at watkins glen. Apparently they don't do bikes there because there's a few turns with very little run-off before the guard rails...

Hey Chode, I thought I would update this thread with my last ride of the season at MidO. Today was the customer appreciation day, EVERYONE rode for free! And... if you were in I or A you got the chance to ride this;

So of course I did. I got one word for them. Ridiculous. And after 7 track days there, I FINALLY jumped 10a on my R6, almost lost it on the landing but did it.

This hill...

1) RC8's are badass! Now you're really reconsidering if you want a liter bike aren't you?

2) hey look it's me! *stares for a while. Itches to go for a ride*

3) not just power wheelie? Like fully airborne with both wheels off the ground and headshake on landing like they do at the isle of man tt?? please tell me someone got a picture of the poo flying out of your leathers as you flew??

EDIT: gah. Now I'm thinking about my laps there, and how many little things I need to change, and how many little things I need to work on, and where I can hammer on the throttle longer and brake a little later, and where I got caught up behind the bigger bikes and I keep watching Monger and Holbert on youtube because their lines are awesome and I want to copy them next time we're there!! I'm so ready to head back From watching their lines I know what I need to do differently through the keyhole and the carousel. And I need to use more track on the esses. And I'm pumped to get back there!!!

Nope, still don't want a liter bike. It was stupid fun to lift the front wheel at will anywhere I wanted though. I am content for now and it would just make me lazy. Because I would have the roll on power to keep up with my track friends. Right now about 20% of my track friends are faster than me, so keeps me working to go faster.

Yep, 2 wheel air and sorry no poo. I have been trying to jump that since my first track day there. Just was never really going fast enough. I figured out the trick though. If you swing for a wide entry of 10a, you can crest with less lean angle and be harder on the gas.

BOOM!!! speed jump. Still had a medium tank slapper landing it and you know you got maybe 1.5 seconds to get it settled before the kink at the bottom of hump there before the next big corner. My buddy behind me was preparing to see me crash. Now... if I had bigger ballz, I would jump it while leaned over like they do "the mountain" on the other side of the pond. Maybe next year... With no damper, that was scary enough to hold me over for now.

I wish I coulda seen that! How fast were you going? You got lucky on that one man. Once you get to that next dip, the front gets pretty loaded. That coulda been bad news.

I can't wait to get back there! The bike is all ready to go, just needs fuses pulled and lights taped. I even did an oil change before I winterized it. Tires should be ok as long as I don't go bonkers.

The hill is amazing to watch on youtube.

No clue on my speed. Needless to say, I wasn't watching. When I landed and everything settled down, I was 97 indicated. A "guess" would be around 85ish and in peek powerband at the crest. So I had the push from the engine to launch as well. It was the hottest I have ever taken those corners. It all happened so fast I didn't have time to have a butt pucker moment.

@RiderOnTheStorm read through this thread. It will answer most of your questions. Ask me anything you need. Chone has taken their novice school as well.

Gracias CS! I heard the KTMs vibrate immensely, but I bet it was still a blast. I wish you had pictures to prove the air! I bet that awesome.

I might have had pics but the guy normally taking photos was riding that day (who passes up a free track day??!?!?). He shot a few of the early morning sessions he skipped because the track was cold and slick. Sadly he crashed too.

@choneofakind

I thought I would poke at you some more since the "good" riding season is coming to an end.

I make the pass post exit of turn 1 (14 sec) and you can see a pass in the distance of turn 8 on the outside in lowside land at the 1 min mark. hahahahah so much fun to be had on this track.

But his left turns look boring and easy
