So what groups we thinking about running? I don't mind riding in any group.
Novice for me....first time at Jennings and possibly on my brand new bike, so I'll be taking it easy. I won't be able to do Monday though unfortunately. If it were only the next weekend when I have winter break! Grrr!

They will move you (like it or not) if your too fast for novice. If you can get a knee down at will, then I believe you should be in the I group but do what you think is right for you.

Nah. I'm not really that fast. I just look like I am.

I haven't had a track weekend in a little over a year since my March weekend on the GSXR didn't give me any time to ride before blowing a bearing. POS.
So I'll be out of practice.

If I still have my 250, I'd prefer to track it, however, the center of the tire is a bit low. I won't buy new tires for just the track weekend, so if they won't pass tech, I'll have to ride the 300 anyway. The edges of the tire are still great and that's what I'll need the most.

If any of you are serious about going to Jennings I think you need to watch this video a few hundred times.

Freaking christ dude. lol Yea.... great lines.

Seriousness need not apply, I called today to ensure I could the groups I wanted. Buy the 3 day special at Expert level and still be able to run Novice level on Sat. to be able to ride with others. I will take photos on Sunday and Alley will not be riding on Mon. so it's the r6 at expert pace all day Sun. & Mon.

Hey, y'all stick with y'alls expert and intermediate. Don't dumb yourselves down just for ol Ally. :P
I used to ride I group with STT, but it's been so long and it's a new track. Gotta start slow.

No worries Ally, I would be very happy to run the beginner group with you and Alex. Sometimes it's not always about going as fast as possible. Remember my 250 has a new front end setup that must be tweaked out. I am hoping to get it "close enough" on Sat. to have some real fun on Sun.

Also, I have run a lower group many times to be able to dice it up with friends. My friend Kevin will also be on my trailer (and riding with us in the I group), you can ask him when we are there. I run plenty of I group sessions with him to make sure I was behind him the first time he touched a knee down. Celebrating success = awesome! Celebrating success with your friends = priceless.

In hindsight, I should have run at least 1 day of N group with chone when we were at Mid-O. The mandatory "school" component of Mid-O makes that track unique.

I don't believe so, their "school" is at an extra cost. If the school part is mandatory in the N group like like mid-ohio, then I would have to excuse myself.

Why not just register in I and bump down if your not feeling it? Jennings if flexible like that. You both are capable riders.

First time I went to Jennings there was a riders meeting and that was it. I ran in Novice (I had never been there before) and after a few laps I was in the 1:25s in the Novice group. There were two Novice groups. My son's very first track day so I ran the group right before he went out (so the tires would be comfy warm for him)and it was Novice as was his' group. I waited for the group to go out first then went out with an open track in front of me. I only remember two guys going down all day.

How fast you are is not even a concern and if gear is the only thing holding you back, I should be able to fix that. I even have extra boots now. Now what is your excuse?
