Glove recommendation
Hey folks, I need some glove recommendation.
So my S&S gloves have ripped with less than 1000miles of use (gloves never touched pavement). So, I'm looking for a replacement within my budget of $100. Right now I am inclined towards the AGVsport Laguna Gloves. Its within my budget and has been praised by motorcyclist magazine a couple of months ago. I am also considering the Kobe gloves which also fits into my budget. I like this glove but it does not have any wrist protection (the AGV and A* have wrist protection) and seems too thick for everyday street use. If I stretch my budget a bit, I can get the A* GP Pro gloves. This seems to be a track glove I am not sure if I really need this for everyday street riding. What should I look for in street riding gloves? Which one would you get out of these three? Do you guys have any other suggestions? Thanks! |

glove recommendations . . .
Just checking on your glove considerations. I have the Knox BioMech. I have been down on two lowsides at 30-40 mph and scraped the palm pucks down to the leather. I had no damage to my hands. The Amour Bodies and Woodcraft foot pegs did their thing. I'd give a lot of consideration to the construction of the palm side of your hand since that was the part of my body (along with my knee and elbow) that absorbed most of the impact. I'm not sure these gloves are worth the price. I'm only saying this because the pucks really saved my hands. There are other gloves with good palm protection. Here's a link to the BioMech and if you click on the palm view you'll see what I mean. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...chAutoComplete Just sayin'.

In that price range the alpinestars SPX or SP2 work. If you like Held the Held Sambia is also in that range.

I can definitely recommend these gloves http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street...le_gloves.html
I had them on, when I had my lowside at about 20-25 mph. Slid on the right palm on the pavement. Glove is scuffed and has a tiny rip. My hands are completely unharmed. Never made it to the skin. I already ordered another pair.

Thanks for the recommendations
Hey guys,
Thanks for your suggestions. I like the Knox Biomech, but unfortunately I need the gloves ASAP (don't wanna ride without gloves) and saving up for them will take some time. I really like the idea of having scaphoid protectors in the palms but all the gloves with these protectors are beyond my current budget. All the Alpinestars also seem to be great deals, especially from IronPony. Definitely in my budget and A* makes quality stuff. Quote:

I'm not a fan of the carbon fiber knuckles. I like the Alpinestars SP-8. $40 from iron pony for the AYC. $80 elsewhere. Good buy. I have two pairs.

Thanks for your input
Bit the bullet and bought the A* GP Pro. Exceeded my budget by quite a lot but I guess being poor for a couple of months is worth the money spent on good gear.
