question drop in filter or shimming
Hi.
I have a lot search and read in this forum and i know most people done with his bike just drop in filter and shimming needles. So I have a question before i move to next step for my bike (bike all stock jetting, just pu5 slip on and all are find). I want to improve my bike but without jetkit. So here is a couple question : 1. If i shim needles with washer, snorkel must remove? 2. If i just put drop in filter without shim would be ok, I mean not lean midrange? Thanks |

First Max, every bike's jetting needs can be slightly different.
Second, these bikes come a bit on the lean side from kawi. So... You can shim and still keep the snorkel if that is what is best for your bike. No harm there. The drop in is a bit more tricky, you could be a tad lean, especially if you get a Hi Flo. You throttle, buttocks and spark plugs will tell the tale. Since shims are super simple to add/subtract, it's no big deal to try either way.
