And here you are at 70K+ miles. Just like you said. Well done! Hope you make 100K.

How's the cam chain on your bike (my personal hunch of the weak link). What else have you done to make it this far?

Forgive my cynicism. So often you see people asking/obsessing what is the absolutest best-est oil, or oil filter, air filter, tires, chain etc for their bike.................which they then sell after 6-8K mi.
I recall complaining on another 250 forum about the fuel economy difference between the 2007 and 2008 models and how I was mislead by the Cycle World Petrol Pinchers article and Kawasaki. CW supposedly "updated" for 2008 but only changed pics and MSRP while Kawi posted no MPG numbers at the time. People there attacked me saying that I would have to drive 10K miles a year for it to matter, which I had every intention of doing. I told them that I intended to, I had bought it specifically to save money on fuel, I didn't even own a car, and I even had the opportunity to buy the 2007 model new ($500 lower MSRP) the same day I bought my 2008 model brand new.

Relevance? They thought I was simply being obtuse and banned me, but I proceded to ride almost 700 miles home from the dealer, then ride cross country, then ride over 10,000 miles a year. Certainly proved them dead wrong! I love the bike but I still wish I got better fuel economy. I told them that too! I re-read the thread and when I saw that 10K miles statement all I could think of was "10K? Big whoop."

My new goal: get to 75k so that column no longer has a 0 in it.

Come on, someone has to have 30k! We need to fill the poll in.

Since my 2008 bike has been parked since 2012 (and for a good bit of 2011), it qualifies, but I'm about to start riding it again and I don't want to slot in somewhere that doesn't fit a short while later.

Edit: poll lets you unvote then vote again so I went ahead.

I read once that Mike Kneebone, one of the Iron Butt Rally organizers, has averaged 50,000 miles per year for the last 20 years or so.

If you look at their web page you'll see a lot of riders who rack up very high mileage on their bikes...

71,000 and change currently, started at 2,024 when I bought the bike ('06) used spring '09. I'm on my second motor, fourth chain, fourth set of tires (rear just changed last month, love my Kendas), third paint color (stock blue, then Atomic Orange, then metallic green), fifth set of brake pads, second front rotor, third clutch cable, original carbs (last touched when I cleaned them after getting the bike home), second Mike's Euroshield (Toyota pickup ate the first ime, bleh...). Pretty much everything else is original and stock. I keep a detailed log of expenses and savings, and this bike has paid for itself and all maintenance, gear, insurance, upgrades, etc.

3660 km in 18 months of mercilless abuse,
all of it on track except the first 100km when some new rider must have crashed their pride and joy straight out of the showroom.

I have a great hatred for Kawasaki's and this thing just wont die,

So if I have 2 ninjettes (new gen and 300), do I add the mileage together for the poll? Or is this just for 250s only?
