Race/Track Ninja 250 value
I am preparing to sell two Ninjettes, one pre-gen and one new gen. As the 300 is becoming more popular, does anybody have any guidance on reasonable values for these bikes? Both have been raced in FL CCS (the pre-gen only very briefly) and are well prepped and track ready, although both have stock suspensions.
Trying to sell to help fund my son moving to an SV650 (or maybe KTM 390 if they take a while to sell). Any guidance would be appreciated! |

depends, the pregen won't be worth much if it doesn't have 17" wheels so ~$1000 if it's able to be street legal easily. The newgen I'd say around $2,000-3,000 depending on condition and what's been done to it. These are prices in my area though which may be very different to FL prices
check the wera classifieds

Hasn't been too much going by on the classifieds for WERA or CCS recently.
The pre-gen has woodcraft clip ons, rearset brackets, full Muzzy exhaust. Can be converted back to street easily. Was hoping it could bring a bit more than that, but that is probably realistic since most don't want to run the old bike anymore. The newgen is nice and is setup better than my newgen right now, and runs consistent top fives and a decent number of podiums in FL. But again it seems like prices are dropping due to the 300s, so trying to figure out a good asking price to move it. It has woodcraft clip ons, yosh rearset brackets, Tyga exhaust (I think it is), Pit-eck bodywork, quick-turn throttle, is jetted and is among the quickest of the FL "spec" bikes. I have it listed on the STT forum and am just at the threshold of post count here to prepare to list it I think... |

A few pics would help. As far as street prices go, CL will give you a ballpark. Sadly the aftermarket bits will not bump the price up that much. Stock newgens can go for as little as $2k round my parts as well as the pregens for about $1000-$1300.

Links don't work Steve- giving a Error 404.
I still see new gens in street trim with 15k miles listed at $3,000. With race trim and and clean title expect to get no more than that. Without a title $2,000 is fair for a race built. The pregren- My suggestion is sell the nice bits on forums or ebay and sell the remainder as a street bike missing parts or put the stock pieces back on. A race ready or modified pregen brings no added value as they are not as competitive anymore. Some who would buy it as a street bike doesn't care about performance parts and only wants something that can take a beating. |

Whoops. Fixed links in my for sale threads but not here. They should work now.
I have gotten some interest in the muzzy exhaust, so maybe I should sell that, and the clip ons separately, and then sell the bike for street. The biggest problem is that I need to do some "work' on it to do that, and since I am home only three days every few weeks, that is difficult! Thanks for the input though. Steve |
