news: mexico

if you live in the USA, chances are you have not even heard about what is currently going on in mexico. i suggest you go to another country's media like BBC and take a look at what is happening. then ask yourself why american media is not covering this.

Link? Are we talking about the dead (murdered) students and impending protests? It's on Google world news and Yahoo world news.

Because American media likes fueling shallow gossip and inner division vs a wider understanding of the world.

Hadn't heard a word about the missing students there and barely a whisper of the students in Nigeria.

no, basically mexican gov is crazy corrupt and the plebs have had enough. the feds are sending militants into the protest to pretend to be protesters while they attack others and cause violence. then they are using this as justification to mass-murder them plebs. then they cover it up.

The gates have been left wide open and there's a welcome sign on the other side.

Hopefully in the economy. Less drugs in, less money out.

Is it about the money or about our nation? Thousands of troops died overseas...and for whom? For ungrateful people who assassinate our ambassadors and burn our flag?

Better yet, go here and take a good look. http://projects.militarytimes.com/valor/

The US govt takes your money too, they just do it in an indirect fashion. Many countries are corrupt (the US isn't perfect - no country is), some more than others. Same shiit, different toilet. That's the way the world works presently, unfortunately. There are numerous atrocities going on around the world, Mexico is no different.

Last time I checked, we don't have a draft. People have a choice to join the military. If you choose to join the military, without weighing the consequences of those choices, that's on YOU. Rich people wage wars in their ivory towers and let the common person fight their wars. The result? The common person dies, the rich person profits. The US government doesn't go to war for peace, or democracy, they go to war to protect their "interests/investments, etc." Their "interests" are not the local people, otherwise there would be a lot of people who love the US government (and its people). The US government is a modern day imperialist. It's rather ironic too, considering the history of the USA, seeing how they left Europe under similar notions.

Not to distract from how badly the Mexican country is being controlled.. but I think the greater argument for us as Americans is that of border control- yay or nay?

Those that say yay better be close to 100% Native American. Those that say nay better be any of EVERY other race and ethnicity that has flooded this country over the last 400 years. Those that disagree can go back to the country from which their ancestors came.

There's a difference. My ancestors came here legally. Got no problem with you coming here if you do it legally, but if you are here illegally then you can get out!

I think we'd all agree we wouldn't wish death upon those who fight for our country, but most wars are less about freedom and more about control, power, and money. That's the ****** part. People are dying to protect the interests of the elite.

My dear friend, I would recommend you to read the following link, maybe this will give you some kind of better understanding why your guys die in other countries and who is the reason for this

The US should just buy Mexico, problems solved. Then, they would all be citizens so no worries about the border and our gov't has all the drugs they could ever want.

I'm talking about the active choice to join the military. Don't tell me to "support our troops," or that "our guys are dying over there," when those people made the choice to be over there, by joining the military in the first place.

You also brought up another aspect, that I was trying to get across. The draft and the fact that people will get fined (a very rich fine) and thrown in prison because they don't want to be apart of some rich man's war(s). That's very telling. What does that say about the USA and what it values? Surely, they don't value you as a citizen. They also don't value you as a solider either, only metaphorically and in an abstract sense of value.

As a person of the armed forces (army, marines, navy, etc) you get told that you'll get certain benefits. When your family goes to the VA department or you go to the VA department and try to collect on those benefits, you then realize you can't collect on said benefits, due to budget cuts, or some other ineligible reason (that wasn't told to you in the beginning). Take a look at the Veterans Health Administration Scandal and how they constantly deny benefits for people who have fought in war, or been apart of the military system. It's a joke. Make empty promises, get you to join, then when you try to collect on that promise, you don't get anything. This scandal didn't just happen in 2014 either, it was just made aware of. How many other scandals are going on, that "we the people" are unaware of? I bet there are many.

Here's a thought, if the USA wants war, send those rich people to fight for them, to protect their own investments. The "threats" the USA has in the world, the USA made them. They create their own problems and expect its common citizenry to back them, by reporting false information to news and media outlets.
