Texas World Speedway track day 2/18

First TD of the season, first track day for me!
We received several inches of rain the night before, track was wet and it rained few times during the day just as the surface was getting dry...and it was 55F or so. Nonetheless, it was awesome great fun. Finally got the upper body positioned right at the end of the day. Line choice needs major work, I had an instructor with GoPro following me and it was brutally clear I was not picking the right lines at all.

Looks like fun. I hate rain. If it was up to me it would only rain at night.

I was wondering who had the green ninjette! I saw a few pictures of it with some peeps I know. I didn't make it out since I was out at a show the night prior! Looking good in the pics! I'll be out at MSRH on the 3rd and spectating at GSS the following day on the 4th.

I can't make MSRH on the 3rd but I will be back to TWS on the 3/19. But at MSRH we'll have Travis from our ASR club on his pregen.

Cool! I will be the Level 1 Lead Instructor at MSRH on the 3rd and TWS on the 19th. Mark on your instructional sheet that you want me as your instructor (Randy); I'll bring my Ninja also (usually teach on a 600) and I will work with you using it.

We raced last Saturday Mini-Endurance at MSRH...in the rain. Thank goodness for rain tires!!

I am completely opposite. Rain is good once in a while to have around. It teaches you far more than dry weather, and can be a lot of fun if you can put away the fact that you will be soaking wet.

Just went ahead and registered for next TWS. See you there, can't wait to get some lessons!
And yes...riding in the rain was useful, having to pay attention to everything and not just "They said I can do turn2 at 110, wheeeeee!", experiencing tire slippage on nice cold wet tar...I don't think I pushed the bike very far but I wasn't looking to do that, not on the first TD, not in the rain.

Very sensible. My kind of thinking.

Looking forward to it. Always like it when I can get a few Ninjettes to instruct with. I've done some one-on-one instruction with several 250 riders, lot of fun.

Randy, there will be a 4 250s out with a cbr250 in the mix at msrh on the 3rd. It would be awesome if you show us the ropes. It will be a first time track day for a few of us including myself

Will be glad to. When you register, there is a form (called the Instructional Form) that asks about bike type, experience, etc. and it asks if you have an instructor preference. Be sure to indicate 250 and put my name down. I'm already looking forward to teaching on the Ninja!!

I usually work registration, so I will see you there bright and early!
