Which org is it with? I was thinking to try out Summit Point when NESBA is there next season, and I just chatted with a 675 buddy who I will probably go with when TPM is there. But if you have a trailer with an extra spot, I'd be interested in an early season day.

PS: Why not do the Shenendoah circuit? It seems like the more technical the track, the better it is for us small-displacement guys. Just a thought.

Haha.

Another thing to consider is that this date is VERY early, esp for WV. Not that it's likely, but it's totally possible to get a snow there in March. I wouldn't want to do my first track day in temps where my tires never really got warm, so I probably won't be willing to sign up for this one way in advance. More like, week of, 'oh hey the weather looks great this weekend, I'll call and see if they have a beginner slot open' sort of thing.

I checked it out -- that weekend is with Motorcycle Xcitement -- Roger Lyle's group. Just FYI.

I didn't do trackday, but I went out there a few weeks ago on November 11. It's a great excuse to enjoy the ride out there and get a feel of how a track day is run. I don't remember paying any admission to enter the grounds. An interesting mix of riders and bikes in the novice group. I saw mostly supersports and more Ducatis than at the dealer. I don't remember seeing any Ninja 250s. Well, not any pregens.

Best reason to go visit: They open the track for street bikes between sessions. Well, you're speed limited to about 30 mph and follow one of the instructors in a large group. Definitely not fast enough to stay up on the Karussell. But you get a good feel of the track layout. If you really want to go at speed, bring full leathers and ride tandem with one of the instructors.

And old WV Route 9 right before Charles Town is one of my favorite roads. And should be even better since the car traffic should be a lot lower with the new WV Route 9 bypass.

I have done summit many times in a few different cars, if ever there was a place to bring your A game, that is truly one of em...probably on par with laguna seca for technical skill required. I'd love to make it but funds are far too scarce. You willhave fun. Long straight stretch downhill to turn one. Should be able to top the ninja out there. Wheeeeeeee

If the weather is looking good come closer to time, I may ride out there early morning one of the days and sign up for their free trial if they have a spot.

If anyone else wasn't interested or able to pay for a day yet, we could make it a group ride, do the intro sessions in the morning, and then hit some twisties in the afternoon. Sounds like a good day to me!

Info on NESBA's trial: http://www.nesba.com/riding-classifications/

I knew I recognized your name... I'll probably be rolling with on one of those days. I just picked up another 250. So I'll have that on the track too with the 6r.

@CC Cowboy the summit point circut (main i guess)

Link to original page on YouTube.

Dont mind the slow cagers . I figured since it will be my first trackday i should do the less technical one, the other one has what like 18 corners?

@gogoKawi happen to have spot for another bike hmmmmm?

Nesba runs on the Main track. It's a fast track. On the 250, you are going to get blown by on the straights. But it's fine. Just ride your ride.

Shenandoah is made for the 250. All turns with a short back straight. I thought the 7th and 8th were for the Shenandoah. So, I guess I won't be rolling. I prefer that track over Main.

Motorcycle Excitement is the other org that goes to Summit Point. http://www.motorcyclexcitement.com/ It only does track days at Summit at least twice a month. I think the org is fine. It's just not as polished as Nesba or TPM.

I prefer riding with Roger Lyle (MotocycleXcitement) to TPM. Although I do like riding with TPM. There's just something you gotta love about Roger. I've never ridden with NESBA - a few of my track buddies have and don't enjoy it at as much.

I may be at Main on the 25th on the GSXR. Wadded myself up at the end of the season out there and must redeem myself. (Actually - I gotta make sure my bike rides straight at speed lol)

Hope to see you out there!
