Yea I crashed. First time at the Track and 1st Crash. Just watch the video.

Link to original page on YouTube.

If you want to go straight to the crash...(yea that's what everybody wants to see). It happened at 4:57 BUT please watch the full thing...I put some effort into making this memorable video... haha

nice, i think you should be happy that your frame slider broke off cause if it stayed on and caught that dirt it could have flipped over

Y U MAKE ME SKIP THROUGH VIDEO TO SEE CRASH!?!?

And man you had it for a second, what happened? Were you trying to get back onto the track rather than ride it out?

Yea..it did it's job. I didn't crack any fairings or break any mirrors. Just scratches on the fairings and my shifter went backwards, which was easily fixed.

You had a good attitude. =)

Was it target fixation? Did your peg scrape?

I think I was going in too hot into the turn...then I felt I wasn't making the turn I tried to get the bike upright and go slowly into the gravel but I slipped and went down.

Right before you went down it looks like you're grabbing front brake. That's what causes crashes in the dirt that most orgs seem to forget to tell people. REAR BRAKE ONLY IN THE DIRT. The front just digs in and down you go.

It looked like you had it in the dirt but maybe it was that you were pushing yourself up with your leg. Sucks

I can't wait to crash at the track

come out with us in November! One of the points I'm going to make sure to cover with the noobs is if you go off (I went off once on each of my first 3 track days) to use rear brake only. I've been off 4 times total and never once dropped the bike.

That's because you have damn long legs....I got short stubby ones that bearly reach the ground.

Sure I want to go, it just depends if I'm still in town...I maybe overseas visiting family.

Nah I've always been going too fast for my legs to help and I never put my feet down until I know it's saved. I will crash sometime though, I hope I'm able to mitigate the damage as well as you did. I really hope to see you out there in November! It's going to be so fun.

Faired well for a first time! Reason why you went down was because you didn't put the bike upright more. The turn is banked so you pretty much leaned over with little effort giving you sense of maybe leaning too far already. Get that butt cheek off the seat, lead with your head and push the bike upright. Just practice setting your body position and speed prior to the turn. More upright the bike is, the more traction you have.

Glad that the accident didn't damper your day!

Way to get back out there mang!

I agree with you John, looks like you went in a bit hot for your comfort and let it run wide to the edge, then decided to run off but the front brake got you. You know what is up from now on!

Some friendly tips;
Head down farther
Bum off the seat a bit more
Use the front brake A LOT more to scrub speed before the corner
Lock/grip onto the bike really well with that outside leg
Grab a control rider to follow and follow you

We all start somewhere, nice riding and cool video. Will be looking for more to come!

Loved the Linkin Park song at the end when you hit the track and shut the visor kinda like a Hero thing nice timing on the transfer and intro into the song synced with the helmet action pretty legit glad bikes alright and mostly you and props for getting back out there.

yup, front brake no good in dirt. i dont think you were too fast for the turn though. a lot of people crash there however. i witnessed like 4 or 5 in 2 track days in big willow..

max told me his friend was there that day. guess it was you!i think i saw you too.
its a pretty boring track for ninjette, no?

that crash earlier in turn 8 was nasty. i was trying to keep away from the white stuff all day lol.

anyway. glad you made it back up!

Great video. I really enjoyed watching it. Sorry about the crash, but it's good to know that the damage (to the bike and to you) wasn't too extensive.
