Hi all. Like many of you, I got the 250R as a first learner bike and I've already fallen in love. After hating the stock exhaust, a friend convinced me to swap the air box and muffler for a K&N pod filter and a shorty (super loud.) I'm in the process of finishing the carb tuning myself but I'm sure I'll hit a few snags along the way so look forward to some random carb tuning questions from me in the near future. Also, if anyone can chime in on a cheap slipon that won't leave my neighbors deaf please feel free to comment. Thanks and I look forward to being a part of this forum.

Welcome, and nice to meet you. Funny, one of the features I love about my '05 250 is that it's so quiet. A previous owner drilled out the four rivets on each muffler, and I thought that made it sound like a lawn mower, so I tapped the holes and installed stainless bolts. When I'm going over about 50, I can't hear much other than the wind, and I love that.

Welcome
The carb experts should be along any minute to answer your questions in the other thread. In the mean time do some searching and reading. The Jetting database thread may be of some use. https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10208 |
