Hello friends

Hello, I'm from Hobart, Tasmania. (the sourthern most state of Australia) I'm new to riding and my 2011 Ninja 250 is my first bike. I am currently carrying out a major service and some minor repairs on the bike and I have yet to take it out for my first ride. I'm hopeful I should get all the parts I need to put it back together but the end of this week. I found ninjette.org as I was searching for general information about the bike.

Thank you. I used a 2011 ninja 250 during the training course for my learners permit and really enjoyed the bike. Everyone I have spoken to about it have told me that it's a great bike. My bike has been a little neglected by its previous owner but is now safe in my caring hands.

Previous owner of my bike took great care to lighten all the fairings with an asphalt rasp. Other than that, it was in pretty good shape. Now that winter is approaching here, I might get the gumption to clean the carbs.

Did you get your riding gear yet?

I had that issue with my bike but luckily I have a friend who does plastic welding. I do have all my riding gear, didn't go for the top of the line gear but it's all compliant with safety standards here. Boots, gloves, jeans with Kevlar and knee armour, jacket is textile with Kevlar with and armour on elbows, shoulders and a removable thermal liner for the colder months, helmet is very basic but fits well and is comfortable... Just lacks features. If I'm loving riding (as much as I think I will) in a couple of years time I will upgrade my bike and my gear, will have a better idea of what I really want and need to spend the proper money on at that stage.

Good plan and good luck! Keep that rubber side down under. (somebody had to say it...)

Welcome,

I spent a couple weeks in Tasmania in 1996. Beautiful Island and great trout fishing.
