Hey all from Delaware!!

Hey everyone,

I finally decided to join. I have found lots of useful information on this site and you all seem like good people. I have only been riding for about a month...so super newbie. I took the msf course at the end of June and had my bike about a week later

Around here it's been mostly neighborhoods and back roads for me. It's too crazy this time of year out on the main roads. I had my first encounter with a dog last night but luckily remembered what I learned in the msf class. He came inches from my back tire and almost ran into the bike behind me.

Anyway, even though I am new to riding, I am always looking for new people to ride with around this area.

P.S. So sad to hear about Alex, RIP.

Hey! Sorry should have been more specific....I mean DE being such a big state and all haha! I am actually from Newark but now I live in southern DE, the beach area.

Cool! I live in Newark! I'm riding down to OC in 2 weeks! If you ever make it up route 1, send me a PM we can do a ride or something!

Cool! Yeah it may be awhile before I make that trip up route 1 on the bike.

When it comes to interstates, it's all about 1. Conquering your fear 2. Keeping your head on swivel at all times. Know where each driver is in your direct accident vicinity 3. Keep your head in all situations and finally 4. WEAR ALL GEAR NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE!!!!. If you do this, your chance of being in an accident are greatly reduced!

Edit: It's up to you but you should put what year your bike is in your profile just in case you ever need any help mechanically or anything, and also maybe put Southern, De in there with it so we don't make the same mistake again LOL

Nice! But, it seems that most delaware riders are up north.

If only I still lived up that way....lol!

NP! How much did you pay for your bike? Mine's 3 years older and I'm thinking about a bigger one..... Like a 650

Ooh another Delaware rider - I joined just yesterday - stay right off Rt 1 in Bear.

Welcome to the board! (from the former Delaware newbie rider.. to the currrent)...

Ok.... paid 2k. We drove 3 hours and trailered it back from Jersey...so add another $100 in gas and tolls. I couldn't find one anywhere around here for less than $2500.

Not bad! I stole mine off my ex pos room mate for 550! Only had 1100 miles on it but it was dropped twice... i sanded and painted it. Looks better then it did!

She ended up getting booted out after another couple of months because she was still behind, but the landlord was happy cause he got atleast one more months rent out of her, I was happy cause I got a bike for Hella cheap, and she wasn't happy cause she is an irresposible kid

Edit: Oh and the landlord made a deal with me to add 100 dollars onto my monthly rent for 5 1/2 months so I barely felt a thing! lol

Nah I'm going down in a week and a half for a full week of vacation. Won't have any time to go down again...

. I don't live too far away from OC. Last year it was wasn't the greatest weather...kinda chilly and rainy.
