MIGHT be doing track day @ the BIC F1 track...

Like the title says, I MIGHT be doing a track day @ the BIC F1 circuit in Gurgaon. It's a VERY fast track with wide sweeping turns, so I don't really know what to expect... I'm sure there'll be a lot of big bikes there as well, so I'll be lagging in the straights, but lets see how I do in the corners... Wish me luck, but don't hold your breath... lol

Hi guys, after waiting for ages, I finally managed to do a track day at Buddh International Circut. What an amazing experience and want an amazing track... It was absolutely fantastic! I had booked 2 sessions for myself of approximately 50mins each. The first session, I pretty much ruined for everyone. After doing about 3 laps without incident, in the fourth lap, I got distracted by a bike at turn three, didn't pay enough attention to the upcoming corner, panicked, grabbed a handgul of brakes and landed up in the gravel. Luckily neither me nor my bike incurred any damage, but the session was red flagged and called off, as the rescue vehicle coming to pick me up was taking too long.

Back in the pits, I made some quick adjustments to the bike, namely lowered my rear-set pegs by a notch, as they were set too high, causing my legs to be bent very uncomfortably, causing my knees to start paining. This was one very big distraction for me in the first session.

The second session went by pretty smoothly and ran for about 45mins, before another fellow rider followed my tracks and landed up in the gravel too. I'll upload some pictures and a video as soon as possible.

Thanks Sarah! Unfortunately I don't have a video of that, as my cam didn't land up working at all in the first session... I really need a better camera.

Hi bro, it was awesome man!!! My bike was already in Rudrapur, so I just had to send it by train to Delhi, cost me 500 bucks. A lot of people had come in from b'lore and had trucked their bikes there. I believe there were 5 bikes including an aprillia rsv factory and an s1000rr

He's a friend of mine
I'm still surprised he can ride.
Like 6 months ago, he highsided an R6, i think, at the Chennai track, and the thing flew into the air and landed on him
His helmet split into pieces, apparently

I probably know them both by face and definitely met them, but I didn't really get introduced to too many people too well. I know there were at least 2-3 S1000RRs there, a Hayabusa, which quit after 2-3 laps, a GSX R600, GSX R1000, R1s, Fireblade etc... Also some R15s and a duke... Quiet impressive. This German kid on his R15 was really haulin ass, while I was barely managing to hang on. I'm uploading the videos right now, so I'll post them for review ASAP. I managed about 10 laps in the second session, three of which got butchered by my crappy camera. Uploading the vids by the lap

Hi chris, thanks for asking. The track day was an absolute blast... I've already got another lined up on the 10th of march. One thing I realised after the track day was I totally regretted not doing CSS. The idea of shelling out 1300$ for 3 days of coaching was really daunting for me at the time, but now I'm thinking it would have been totally worth it. I find myself very nervous at corners, shedding much more speed than I need to. Constantly adjusting throttle input and making steering corrections. I have no idea what my apex should be or where and when to start my turn, etc... Suspension settings is something I need to come to grips with, now that I actually have some adjustability. Also, every time I work on my bike, I mess something up, so a lot needs fixing in my bike, including the throttle and rear brake, sag adjustment, etc... Currently running IRCs but might switch if I feel the need to. Checked for chicken strips after the track day and only found like 2-5mm of unused tire.

I feel you on the cost, it's a big commitment but should be worth it in the end if that is the route you wanna or feel you need to go.

Don't be hard on yourself, everyone's first track day is a little wobbly, nervous with a few errors thrown in there. I watched all of your videos, you did a great job and sounds like you know what you need help with. I hope there is someone local that can help you get set up and help you with your questions.

What are you going to do differently to prepare for you next day?

Thanks for the support bro. @abhijitz has taken me under his wing and is helping me out a bit. He's already sent me a list of things I could do next time to improve myself. I'll also be setting up my bike a bit better, including sag, tire pressure, etc. I'll also have a rear mounted camera to monitor my body positioning while I'm on the bike. There is this one guy who's the service manager at the Harley Davidson service center in Delhi. He's a biking enthusiast and also a "super bike consultant" whatever that means. I might take his help, or rely on the friendly guys at the track day itself. One such gentleman helped set my compression and dampening to make the shock softer and increase my rear sag.

How can you see with the mirrors like that? You must have beengoing so fast that they folded back. And people think 250's are just fast in the corners.
