Throttle Play

So i went to ride my bike for the first time in a few days.. and I noticed my throttle had a little play in it, meaning I can turn the throttle a good amount before it is actually engaging and revving the engine.
Honestly.. I don't know if it was like that before (a few days ago) or not.
I've also noticed that the throttle tube on the bar is kinda loose, and it slides a mm or 2 left or right.

Is it bad to have that play there (in either direction), and how can I fix it whether it is bad or not.

Thanks!

It's not a bad thing, kinda a good thing to have a few mm's of play to account for bumps and such.

You can adjust the cable via then endpoints.

I have some play in mine. It's actually been that way since I got it. If I'm at a light I naturally put it right to where it will engage when I roll it on. Never been an issue for me. I've heard that too tight can cause problems, so I just have left it as is.

I run very little play. Its to tight when the idle changes by turning the bars lock to lock.
