The bridge thread.
I'm sure many of you have some neat bridges in your area. Post pictures of your ninjette on or near bridges in your area.
Here is some pics I took with my cell phone about 30min ago on this rickety old wooden bridge I just found. This thing creaked and moaned when I walked on it, I was almost a little nervous getting on it, but I seen a UPS truck pulling out of the road when I was turning on it so I assumed that it drove over it so it must hold a lot more than it looks like. There are a few neat one lane bridges in my area. Once it warms up it I start riding further away from the house again I plan on taking some pictures.

Oooh dear ooh dear. My only problem is picking which ones to post! Covered bridges run a plenty out here!
Not a motorcycle but me! Tyke almost got stuck taking this one ^^ And all of the above was just ONE DAY trip! These are all up in Bedford County (I believe), PA. The sight that hosted that particular ride log disappeared so...I'd link it with all the nifty info but it's gone ;.; EDIT: HAH! I found it on another forum... http://mdriders.proboards.com/index....play&thread=91 that has the whole ride report... ... That was also the day Tyke discovered she had a heart problem so... Fun yet devistating end. Could have been worse though! I'll scan my pictures to see if I have more..

O.P with you being in AL, you have a lot of old bridges.
The next time I get a chance, I will see if I can get a pick of the bridge, or lack there of that they used in Smokey and the Bandit. We have a ton of old covered bridges here in the south as well. Great thread idea.

Once the weather takes a turn for the better I'm def gonna go bridge hunting. I have been living in North Bama for most of my life, but I really have not seen nearly as much in 17yrs of living here, as I have since I got my ninja, I love exploring. There is just something about being on two wheels that makes me just want to turn on random roads to see where they go.(I think part of that is just how much easier it is to turn around when you hit a dead end.)

This bridge is 8 miles long and replaced the ferry in the 1997 and is the longest bridge in Canada. It's the same amount we used to pay for the ferry which took way longer to cross. In the summer it was torture to go across cause there was so much traffic you sometimes had to wait a long time to catch a ferry.
I haven't seen any speeders on the bridge when i crossed it. They have many camera that is under constant surveillance and have screens that they can put messages on. The only thing i don't like about the brigde is when winds reach 70 km/h the bridge closes to high sided vehicles. It is very cool to go on the bridge on the rig cause you can see everything and if you end up stopping because of construction you actually feel the brigde move...scary.

Not much of a bridge, with Jersey barriers and all but I liked the scene. Found myself wishing I'd brought my fly rod. DSC04246.jpg

That is epic!! ,but 43$ to cross a bridge, thats close to insane. We don't really have any toll roads where I live, taxes pay for our roads.

It's really not a bridge anybody uses to go back and forth to work, the closest urban center is around 40 minutes...it would make no sense for anybody to not live in the province they work in ..And beleive me, we pay a 13% sales tax, this should be paied but we don't have the population for that, lol..

Nice pics guys.
That big bridge is scary. I have been on all the SF bay bridges and they are creepy! You definitely feel them move when stopped in traffic on them. They always drop pieces on cars and stuff while working on them too. Paul we have too much in common.. I always have a 3weight 3 piece 5' fly rod with me in my pack any time I'm going anywhere near a river on the bike. Most "Rivers" around here with fish in them though are more like creeks. You can still find some of the big ones in there if your release karma is good. Perhaps I'll get a shot of the bridge near this creek soon. Imagine this guy yankin' on your 3wt. hehe

Good lookin' browner! My rods are all 9'+ two-piece, might have to pick up a shorty and rig up a pvc carrying case.
Agreed we do have much in common. Shame location isn't one of them, would love to carve up some of that CA twisty heaven ya'll have out there.
