What are some good boots?

This is the last piece of gear I need for me to have a complete set, but I'm kinda clueless which brand and models are good ones. Let me know what you guys are wearing and whether or not you like/love them.
As for the rest of my gear I have skoripion gloves and deuce overpants, joe rocket jacket, and an HJC RPHA 10 helmet.

For what kind of riding? I don't always wear a full race boot on the street. You need water proof? Ones that breath well? Good overall street boot? Do you have to walk much while wearing them?

Sorry to ask so many questions but you will get a better answer this way.

This guide may help you:
http://www.ridermagazine.com/browse-...ing-boots.htm/

Race oriented boots tend to be more protective but less comfortable for normal walking.
Touring type boots favor comfort a little more.
Then, they can be ventilated, water proof, etc.
Avoid combat or motocross types.

Any main branch sells decent products.
Your priority should be comfort, so a mortar and brick store is recommendable for your first experience.

I swear by my Sidi boots. My old Race Vertebrae's have provided many years of service and I use my Fusion's for eveyday riding. Sidi make lots of other boots so you will find a pair in your price range.

I have a full rain over-suit with boot covers so it does not need to be water proof. It gets pretty hot in MS so they need to breath. I want a good overall street boot but something that is not a HUGE pain to walk in. I won't have to walk far in them. Mostly if I go somewhere where I cannot take them off I am running to the store. I have old alpine dirtbike boots and they lock your foot in place. Is that the same as race boots?

Those Alpinestar riding shoes look sick too! I hesitated on getting them because I was unsure whether they actually provided any extra safety. Maye I can throw those on the Christmas list.

My only complaint about my helmet is that I got flat black.... Never again.

Little harder to shop for you when you don't give a budget. You gave your list of current gear though I guess.

I've had these for a while and love them. Worn them upwards of 10+ hours at a time and not had a problem walking. I love them.

Those look really nice and comfortable, but 500 is about double what I was looking on spending. $250 is what I was expecting but if I can spend twice that on something that I will never have to replace, I can understand the price.

At $250-300 you have some really good choices. I'll let some other people chime in with their personal experiance but I would figure out if you like "in" or "out" boots first. Then probably check out Sidi.

I like hella shiny helmets haven't crash tested the riding shoes, but they make me feel better than army boots

Picked up a pair of Sidi ST Airs a ways back, AMAZING ventilation, I really can't speak any higher for Sidi and their products, the boots have held up amazingly well over the course of every day riding, rain or shine, in the form of commuting for the past year.

All Sidis listed are good choices. I'm happy with my Fusions for everyday use.
