Bike won't crank, lights come one, replaced battery and solenoid starter.
I have a 08' ninja 250r. It just won't crank over. Here's some info about the situation:
Lights come on but when I press the start it won't do anything. No sound at all. It will push start with a really good push. It will start if I arc the solenoid. I have replaced the battery AND solenoid and it still won't start. I bypassed the kickstand safety switch to see if that was the problem but still nothing. I'm running out of ideas now. :/ I took off the clutch safety switch and cleaned it up but that didn't seem to be the problem either? If you can give me some help I'd really appreciate it! |

Clutch safety switch?
Labeled as the plunger in the pic.

Starter button? Inspect and clean as well.

I'm sure you've already checked all the fuses and connections (eg. grounds)?

FYI, the clutch switch is irrelevant if it's in Neutral (the same switch that lights up the dash indicator light).
The starter button (and coils) gets its power through the killswitch from the Ignition fuse. Check for power at the brown/black wire in the main harness where the right control plugs in. The start button triggers the starter relay through the black/red > Diode B > blue wire, which triggers the solenoid via the yellow/red wire.
