How much extra load can the alternator take?
Anyone looked into this before? I searched, no find and I'm not well versed in the art of re-charging batteries.

I don't have the answer but maybe you can list your application/products that you want to use.

get a battery tender if there's any question of draining batteries. They're simple and intuitive.

I can say it has enough to run everything in my do-it-yourself fuel injection system and my heated grips at the same time. (But I'm cheating slightly because I replaced all the brake lights with LEDs)

i believe them being separate items means it is not what you call an "alternator" you are referring to the output that the stator gives. the rotor is part of the crank shaft. you can replace the stator with a higher output stator. check out places like rickystator.com or all pro electronics. ive used stators and pickup coils (hell even main coils) from them a few times. cant say anything bad about either except maybe rickystator's communication went down a bit after ricky died
